Title: So long, and thanks for all the fish!
Post by: Antigen on October 16, 2003, 06:04:00 PM
I just wanted to take a moment to express my deeply felt gratitude to all you program believers of various stripe. Not only have you provided some excellent examples of how the Program 'works' for those who may come here looking for insight and understanding, but you have also provided me an oportunity to do something which I enjoy and find very therapeutic myself.

You see, I've taken part in some of these same conversations 20 years ago and more. In those days, my choices were limited to either taking an active and entheusiastic position in support of the angry mob, regardless of the harm we were doing to the targetted dissenter, or to take a turn at playing the part of the hapless target myself.

Many's the time I thought to myself "If only I could drag one of these lunatics out into the more commonly accepted reality and have this debate...." But, alas, that was not to be in those days. And I must admit, it would probably be more satisfying to actually see your temples throbbing and your eyes growing wide. But this is about as good as it gets for the money. And I am deeply grateful to you for providing me the oportunity to respond from my own heart and mind without fear of getting my ass thrown to the concrete and sat on buy half a dozen hefty, sweaty, angry gals.

Thank you, and be well,
Ginger

You know, too many weirdos out there. At least with you people I know WHY you are weird!!!

But this is far from demonstrating that the authorities must interpose to suppress these vices by commercial prohibitions, nor is it by any means evident that such intervention on the part of the government is really capable of suppressing them or that, even if this end could be attained, it might not therewith open up a Pandora's box of other dangers, no less mischievous than alcoholism and morphinism.
