from a Christian perspective, there seem to be three choices, all bad.
Choice 1 drug use is a moral failure ( and it often is) and as a christian i must educate you out of your moral failing, by whatever means.
Choice 2 Drug use is a weapon of war, ( and it always is) therefore I must save you from this weapon, by whatever means.
Choice 3 Drug use is a social disease, and as such, it is my obligation to isolate and contain the contagion until the contagion passes. ( let us begin the beguine)
(that's an awful joke, i should be ashamed) ( But I'm not)
I think, these days, often , ::unhappy:: of my buddy, former D.E.A., legalize, and prepare for bloodbath. Yeah, I think that right
I think that social animals have a way of righting themselves, if left to themselves. Mostly, from a Christian perspective, I think. why would you worry about the mote in your brother's eye and ignore the stick in your own.
That's the heart of the problem I think.
J.O.M. ::unhappy:: as for me well i don't much care what you do. if you're on my property without good reason it'll go hard. if you're a fed looking for my still you're on your own in a dark wood. If you suffer or are in pain just tell me and i'll try to help Why woulnd't I? and I'd expect the same of you. J.O.M.

Actually. The bible says nothing at all about drug use. Some claim it qualfies as "gluttony" while others claim the bible specifically states that cannabis is a good thing:

God said, "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so." And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen. 1:29-31)
Also:
He saith unto them, "Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him.... That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man."

Actually, was anyone talKin to you. God spare me the stupid. It's illustrative, though. jumps right in and appears to contradict, in a self- righteous manner, without even coming close to the issues i raised. God spare me the stupid.J.O.M
