In a 1999 interview with The Rocky Mountain News, however, Kay, who at that time had left the Wwasps organization, criticized its programs and staff. The staff was "a bunch of untrained people," he said, according to the newspaper. "They don't have credentials of any kind."
"We could be leading these kids to long-term problems that we don't have a clue about because we're not going about it in the proper way," he said. "How in the hell can you call yourself a behavior-modification program -- and that's one of the ways it's marketed -- when nobody has the experience to determine: Is this good, is this bad?"
WWASP is currently being investigated by several federal organizations, there is a chain reaction to all 10 facilitys that will be happening shortly. These people are truly being shut and its not gonna be pretty.

Back then, didn't the Rocky Mountain news consistently misquote even more than other publications? Does anyone even remember their "National Enquirer" style?
-
WWASPs never sued the Rocky Mountain News. There exists tape of Ken Kay saying what he was quoted as saying.
If the tape didn't exist, you can be darn sure they would have sued--they certainly seem to sue anyone else they think defames them, unless tape and witnesses exist and then they simply try to obfuscate.
And, to whomever claimed that the expose must be wrong because there was no government action and because WWASPs is still open-- welcome to the real world. Straight stayed open 10 years after the first expose on 60 Minutes. The press has little power if public outrage doesn't then force the government to act-- or if parents don't believe it.

To whom may concern:
"The world wide association of speciality schools and programs", you tortured me, you made me bleed countless night, You will be held responsbile, wether it take days, months,or years,
The governtment will get you.

WWASP supporters why do you always try to blame the news organizations as the problem. WWASP is the problem! There are way too many sources claiming abuse and mistreatment for this to be one big lie.

Where is this tape? Ken Kay on tape telling all. Sounds good.

I have never seen it. But I'm guessing this is just an other example of how these people routinely attack even their own. It's the only trick they know. I predict that, if ya'll keep up the pressure (and I think you will), one day you'll see some Kays, Lichfields and other core affiliates thrown to the wolves.
