Who gives a shit about this school?  You posted a stupid article that was a waste of time.  Spend your time on something else besides your anti-program movement.

Just to be crystal clear: when (the vast vast vast majority of) fundamentalist Christians speak of "spiritual warfare" the word "warfare" is entirely metaphorical.  The "weapons" they believe in are prayer and witnessing and that sort of stuff.  They also teach that one should turn the other cheek and so forth.  Most Christians, however extreme, also recognize that the separation between church and state is ultimately wise and protects them (though they often disagree with society as to what that separation constitutes).

There is a difference between a cult where people join for one thing only to find another, and a religion where people join with a full knowledge of what to expect where nothing is hidden.  You might disagree with their opinions, but they aren't forcing or tricking people into thinking like them.

Yes, on the first point they do refer to their mission as “a gentle revolution”…I rather liked musing about a place that would actually teach weaponry…If the peas and carrots weren’t mixed in with credenda, I would sign up for a weekend of that…

Um, where did I go? Oh, yeah…

I can appreciate the differences you cited in that last point, Psy. I would like to think that the kids attending the nightly anointing rallies followed by the days of “intensified time of training, impartation, and application to inspire” are there of their own volition.

People at all ages are passionate about their beliefs or as the case may be non-beliefs. So, it’s not beyond the realm of possibilities that some who attend do so in accordance with their beliefs and to be with like minded others.

I do wonder if seminars and retreats that cater to the adolescent age range are mindful of the possibility that the attendee and the persons paying the registration fee may have different perspectives. If the parent is seen as the client and allowed to exhort their child with the use of these lessons then the will of the individual is being subverted in favor of an agenda.

Fornits motto is every program is a cult run by corrupt Mormons.
