Heh, he sent me the same letter. You go John, I hope you get every cent you have coming to you in this matter.

Perhaps calling it "admits abuse" might be putting it a bit strongly? The letter expresses an apology for a conversation, and notes that they "deeply regret the extent to which [they] failed to meet [John's] expectations."
Could be that that's as good as it gets...
What was the original transgression?

Dear John:
Re: Three Springs of Paint Rock Valley[/list]
On behalf of Three Springs of Paint Rock Valley ("Three Springs"), I am writing to express our sincere apologies for the conversation of Three Springs' staff member, Ms. Austin, with Ms. Beth McGowin. At Three Springs, we truly value each of our current and former residents. The staff at Three Springs strives every day to meet the expectations of our residents and their families and we deeply regret the extent to which we failed to meet your expectations.
The staff at Three Springs never harbored any ill-will towards you or meant to cause you any harm. In fact, the staff at Three Springs is proud of you and the many accomplishments that you have achieved. Please rest assured that Three Springs has taken your complaint seriously, and that all appropriate measures are being taken to insure that a similar event does not occur. Thank you for expressing your concerns to us and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Oh they abused him alright and they way they did it was insidious as well. From my understanding the employee mentioned in the letter shared information from John's patient/captive file with a third party who called asking about him. From what I understand 3 springs was hit with a Hipaa violation out of the deal. I asked him to see if he can get the documentation from the OCR (office of civil rights?) and he told he'll get back to me on that one.
John told me yesterday that he will be writing up a personal account of this situation so we should be hearing about this in his own words. So yeah they might not have used cattle prods on him, but they did in fact abuse his privacy and peace of mind in a highly detrimental manner. Bad enough he had to spend six months at PRVB in the group of Dahquolahi, but worst that they have to stick it to him like this after he was pulled by his dad.
Funny thing though.... John's been active on facebook calling 3 Turds out for the shithole it is. And now this? Coincidence? I wouldn't know but given that three springs corporate office is like a large talkative family in a lot of ways I wouldn't put anything past them.
anyhow, John will be explaining this in his own words one of these days so I'll let him do the talking. He's a good lad, sharp as a tack, and has one hell of a promising future.

Oh they abused him alright...
In case I wasn't clear (quite possible, knowing my [sometimes retarded] communication skills), I never meant to imply that they hadn't abused him.
My point was that Three Springs didn't come right out and flat out admit it, i.e., put some sincere effort into making a genuine apology and/or invested more printer ink towards making some headway in the accountability department.
That letter was such a non-committal piece of wishy-wash that the average uninformed reader wouldn't have a clue... One could easily have come away with the impression that John had made a big to-do about some inappropriate gossip voiced around the water cooler between Three Springs co-workers (which would have certainly been bad enough).
