Majestic Ranch is located on a 2,000 acre working ranch. This ranch setting provides an excellent opportunity for children ages 7-14 to gain responsibility and increased self esteem by assisting with ranch duties. Students help with calving, lambing, caring for cows and sheep and other ranch activities..
Our students do ranch chores and care for animals on a regular basis… During the Spring and Fall the students are involved in Sheep Trail and have the experience of sleeping in the outdoors as they push sheep to and from their Summer pasture.
All students also have the opportunity to learn to care for horses and can earn the privilege of riding horses for ranch duties.
Our schooling is done on an independent basis in a classroom setting. Each student is self-paced and monitored by our on site teacher (on site not actually working with the kids in a class.)
LIVING ARANGEMENTS
Our students are in families with two staff plus junior staff The meals are well balanced and nutritional, but not as good as home cooked meals. We are in a rural area sometimes with animal smells. All of these things are the very things that make our School so impacting and foster such a renewed appreciation for home and parents

[LEVELS THE 7 -14 year olds are ranked at and associated privileges and deprivations:]
Level 1:
NO games, music
No hair gel or spray, jewelry, make-up or shaving
No nice food snacks
No talking to other level ones or 2s
Level 1s are new or non-working students who deserve nothing but the necessities to live until they learn otherwise
Level 2
Privileges of level one

No cards
May have nice food-snacks
Level 3
Privileges of level 2s
No jewelry, make-up shaving
May have nice food snacks
May play with cards
Make have one phone call from parents a month
May attend church (with parent’s permission

Special Activities and Responsibilities
Lambing in early spring we have 1500 sheep give birth lambs. Students help staff and ranch owners with this process and are responsible for feeding the abandoned lambs.
Branding Students hold down calves while they are branded, castrated, and given vaccinations. We end the day by feeding them the castrated testicles-“Rocky Mountain Oysters!”
Ducking In late Spring students help staff cut off the tails and castrate the testicles of the lambs they raised. They paint the labs for identification, force identification tags throught their ears, and give vaccinations. This is another dirty job that the students learn to love!
Sheep Train Every Spring and Fall Students push the lambs they raised down sheep trail. It is 90 miles long and takes a month to travel, Students who have earned the opportunity to ride are allowed to ride along, awhile the other follow behind on foot. During that time, students sleep on the trail. (are the lambs they raised are slaughtered then?)

Essays and trend hours
Essays and trend hours are our alternative to worksheets. Because of the age of our students it is more effective for them to do less writing and more activities.
Essays follow a certain format and the length or the essays is determined by the severity of the rule violation. The essays are meant to give students an opportunity to reflect on their choices what they learned for their experience.
Trend hours are additional assignments or projects students must complete, the intent of having students do an assignment after receiving a consequence is to remove them from the situation and give them time to reflect.
Cat 1- 15 demerits
Cat 2 -50 demerits written statement
1 hour trend
Cat 3 -80 demerits
500 word essay
4 trend hours
Cat 4- loss of 3 levels
6 trend hours 1000 word essay
Cat 5 -loss of all levels 1500 word essay

Students who earn a cat 4 or 5 consequence in the Character Development Course follow the Adapt schedule until the demonstrate a positive attitude be on task and follow directions, etc

isn't the fect that 7 year old are being used as slaves, forced to do nothing but write essays about how bad they are and larbor manually, are deprived of an education, are looked after by "jr staff"--other kids in the program--kids, supposedly to mentally ill to be allowed in the world, and denied medical care enough to make the county remove the kids there?

I am the op. Yes, please change the title of the thread to include the name of the gulag: Majestic Ranch; its parent corporation: WASP; and the names of wwasp leaders: Robert Litchfield and Karr Farnsworth.
I hand re-typed everything above from Majesitc Ranch's brochure. Everything, including the line about "level 1 (7 year olds) are new or unworking students who only deserve the bare necessities for living, is direct transcription .
The only part I slightly added to is where you read “the lambs they raised.” In the brochure it does not state specifically that 7 -14 year olds are forced to castrate and otherwise torture the lambs they raised. However, unless they import lambs just so their 7-14 year old slave-prisoners can castrate them, while letting their own lambs develop naturally I am stating explicitly what they state implicitly. I also translated the animal husbandry term “clipping ears” into plain English, which as best I can gather means painfully piercing the animal’s ear with identification tag.

Alternatively, the 7-14 year olds are being forced to chop off their pet lambs ears. I doubt that only because it would decrease WWASP profit from the labor of their child slaves.
Because a large extent of what their child suffers is made completely known to the parents who use Majestic Ranch, they cannot claim “they didn’t know.” I hope the parents who inflict this upon their 7,8,9,10,11,12 year old babies realize they are evil, sociopathic people. I will post their names soon so everyone can know their shameful, evil grotesquerie.

ive done calving and branding. this is NOT for 7-14 year old city kids. i know friends in their 20 and 30 who have gotten broken legs, ribs, and burned from doing this. (i got a deep bruise down to the bone due to a cow in labor calving) it is dangerous and deadly.)
perhaps we should tell PETA on this one since the kids may be forced to do this against their will??

Maybe these parents who don’t want their kids can send them to the foster mother pictured above. Unlike these human children’s legal guardian, this dove has a nurturing instinct, and unlike WWASP will look after their unwanted children for free and without abuse and cruelty.

ok let this farm boy break this down.
1. branding. not used very much now that we have ear tags and RFID implants. just like you dog or cat could have. so why they do it i dont know. wast of time and energy. thought cheaper than ear tangs let alone RFID.
2. calving. ok this is where i get graphic sorry. calving is where you help the cow give birth. some times in a breach birth you have to put it in a ketch pin block its rear hooves (that is a major thing) lube up your arm and i mean your whole arm to the sholder reach inside her and turn the calf around (ya not something for young children to be doing)
castration. now a days we dont cut the balls off. we band them off. think of it like this. we put them in the pin or hold them down (here again not an easy feat a few week old calf can throw a man about 100 pounds let alone a 6 month old calf) get a special castration tool place basically a rubber band on it open the jaws and roll the rubber band onto the top part of the calfs sack. wait about a week and they fall off. less painful than cutting and less risk of infection or accidentally stabbing the calf due to their movement. cutting the balls is now days considered not very healthy.
also if your doing calving the cow is not too dam happy when you are around her calf. ive been hit while tagging. mom came up from behind me and sent me for one hell of a ride.
a lot of this stuff other than the ear tag is now done by vets and for good reason. less stress on the animal less injury's to the farm hands. it is a very dangrous thing to be around a 1000 pound cow. and if they get pissed at you (and it can be any time and there is no such thing as a pet cow trust me on that) your screwed. i know guys who have been trampled, kicked (you live but your hurt like all hell) and dragged. these are grown men who have done this most of their lifes and they still get hurt. i grew up around a farm, there is no farmer who would ever let anyone under 10 near a calving cow, let alone in the dam pin when calving. its usually around the 15 to 18 range that they get in. some sooner depending on how they can handle it. but we are talking farm kids not city kids like are on MR. this smells like a death sentence waiting to happen and a lot of useless tasks that can hurt the animals.

Actually, they do. At the GAO hearings I attended in september, a member of the GAO who I had never met before came up to me to say hi, and told me that he was a fan of my posting on Fornits.
This might be a crazy place, but like Ginger says, it's like porn: everybody reads it, but nobody wants to admit it. WWASP shut their server's hole down within a day. Lon Woodbury, I hear, reads this site religiously.
Maia Szalavitz reads Fornits and gained a lot of interviews for her book through Fornits. Lawyers hang here too as well as LEO types. All sorts read Fornits... though not everybody posts.

Ya have a point. But such action has to start someplace. Fornits is great for networking and organizing such action. Maybe not a whole lot is done here directly, but a hell of a lot is started, or sparked here.
