Was anyone here severely abused by their parenents in addition to being instiutionalized? This is my situation. What was it like for you before you went away? How did your peers treat you and how did you get on with them? What was it like coming "home" for you?
just like to talk

home life was not peaches and cream for certain. Program did not care about that. I was told it was my doing. It has been my burden to untangle.

Ah, here's a fun question.
Abuse, I've had my share. The state of Texas may or may not still have photographic evidence. I have no clue how long they keep it.
My mother wrote me a letter once...explaining how she'd "yelled a LOT" when I was growing up...
I reminded her that the state of Texas felt there was a bit more than "yelling" going on, certainly after I called the child abuse hotline. They came to my school, took pictures of my bruises....that bought me a ticket to Rolloff's. Yay me.

yeah I was severely abused by my loving parents. May they rot in hell.
Didn't spend time in an institution though.. went to a boarding school for 2 years and that was an interesting situation in itself given my mental and emotional state after dealing with my parents.
