If you were going to make a list of programs that closing them down would have the most impact in terms of their size, influence, abusive practices, and whatever other criteria you thought was important which would they be?
My personal stab at answering this question:
1. Judge Rotenberg Center
2. Tranquility Bay
3. Spring Creek Lodge
4. Academy at Ivy Ridge
5. Kids Helping Kids
6. Provo Canyon School
7. Family Foundation School
8. Red River Academy
9. Cross Creek Programs
10.Hidden Lake Academy
This list is horribly incomplete and is not intended to credit any of the programs that are not found on this list. If anyone wants to create their own list, or identify a school that they feel is a definitive top 10, please go ahead. The purpose of this excercise is to identify programs you would highlight if say you were going to give someone a presentation on the current state of the industry and didn't want to leave any of the important ones out, but you didn't want to overwhelm them with too much information so that they simply shut down.

This is a great idea for a thread! A thought: Expand each one of these entries to include a concise set of criteria documenting specific forms of physical and psychological abuse.

I think Peninsula Village definitely deserves to be on that list, of course I am a bit biased... but if you're factoring size into this I could see why PV isn't included.

I'd have to strongly agree.
