Title: WWASP Downscaling
Post by: Anonymous on October 09, 2008, 04:36:47 AM
So, get this:

- the PC4 seminar, which was introduced 3-4 years ago, is cancelled.
- Parents now have to pay more for their Focus and Keys seminars.
- Seminars will not be held in various locations throughout the US anymore, but in two sites only, Las Vegas and someplace on the East Coast.
- The graduation ceremonies in San Diego are gone. Now, each facility will have its own graduation ceremonies for its own inmates.

Sounds like someone's running out of cash...

The anti-WWASP forum (http://http://www.antiwwasp.com/forum) have threads about their new marketingname - [urlhttp://www.troubledteenprograms.org/]Teen Revitalization[/url].

It seems that they are about to develop their programs and perhaps take programs in, which does not use the mainstream model. That could leave them possibility for growth like Aspen Education Group, which offers a large number of different programs.

Also you have to keep in mind the financial crisis. Where did the parents loan the money and what did they put up as security? If houses in general have less value the parents can loan less money for a private prison for their child.

Here in 2008 we have seen several programs shut their doors. Of course the hearings in the congress did theirs but the financial crisis and development of the youth justice system does influense the decisions of parents. If you have a youth justice system that generally allows youth to take accountability for their actions and in return leaves them with community service and counseling, a lot of programs could close tomorrow.

In the future the WWASP name will disappear. The torment by youth connected to this name is just too public known for them to use it. They will try to keep their programs running until the job situation is better.

They are already in the process of disappearing that name.

WWASPS is now marketing under the name "Specialty Boarding Schools".

There is an add in Southern Living for "Specialty Boarding Schools" identical to the WWASPS adds, except for the name change. I'd assume the same is true for other publications they advertise in.

A Google on "Specialty Boarding Schools" brought up many sites. Quite a few were for the Aspen program's web sites, but there were also several on the top two pages like this:

and:

Specialty Boarding Schools
Some specialty boarding schools involve a long term stay, while others have 30-day ... What kind of specialty boarding schools are there and what types of ...

it matters little to me how many name changes they go through.. with the help of everyone here, and through my other developments recently, they can no longer hide as long as they use this business model. they use the internet to spread their filth, and i'm running around behind them with a giant internet broom and a dust pan... perhaps a vacuum... not sure at this point.. ;D

It is about damn time that all the facilities get closed.  Maybe that is the "upside" of the current recession.  If parents can't afford to send their kids to these places....enrollment drops..schools close...beautiful!  Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling just thinking about it...YES!!!
