Title: What is the Collective Action Network?
Post by: Anonymous on August 18, 2008, 07:06:30 PM
I've never heard of this before, is it new? I was going to post it in that forum, but it wouldn't let me post as guest in there.

CAN- Collective Action Network

Yeah.  It says "this board is moderated".  It's not practically possible to moderate a forum that allows guest posting.  Feel free to register, though, and you'll be welcome to post in there.

Ok. But what does this 'network' do? What 'action' is going to take place? In other words, what is the point of the forum in the first place? That paragraph description doesn't adequately explain what the C.A.N. is, or why I should bother posting there instead of here.

Very simply it hasn't changed, this particular forum just has a new name.  It's a place to exchange ideas and thoughts about how we can actively bring awareness to an industry that few who have not directly been touched by, are even aware of.

Some ideas posted in the past have covered fliers and handouts to help expose what goes on on the inside, and how to grab the attention of a passerby with that flier.  Others have included protests that are not the conventional, not 'stand out in front of a program with a sign' type of protest.  Contribute your ideas, no matter how small, to someone else it may be a HUGE revelation of what they themselves can do.

This is interesting. Please tell Fornits readers more about CAN.
