No hackers. What happened was that the guy who was our hosting service croaked (malaphus).

Partyvan is having to recover their data from google cache as well :( To those who don't know, since last summer we've been hosting on the partyvan network (which is probably one reason SS has had the wisdom not to mess with them, as it would mean bringing the fury of Anonymous down on her).

alpha, we were running backups, but we didn't expect the guy who was making the backups TO DIE.
And you don't need to get every backup, but if you come across an article that is outdated, grab stuff from the google cache.
so... Currently we're hosting on Dreamhost, which has a good reputation for free speech (also based in california, which has some really cool laws regarding slapp suits and online free speech). Hopefully they won't bend over and take fornits down on account of fradulent accusations (as netfirms and GoDaddy did... it's called "risk management"). Hopefully there, nobody rolls over and dies either (not that it's anybody's fault <_< >_> ).

Who the fuck else would DDoS fornits? Honestly.
If it were the "usual suspects" they'd drama it up like a damned catfight at a highschool dance.
Now, when its NOT a DDoS, but rather something else, it could just be paranoia. Who knows?

A big part of the whole issue with Godaddy (as I saw it go down) was all the anti Semitism and pictures of blacks being lynched etc. It is difficult to hold onto and protect a free speech site and have an association with a group or people like niles who try to deter free speech and opposing points of view with pornography and links to hate sites everytime he feels he disagrees with someone or loses an argument. Everyone likes to protect free speech but when the site also embraces and tolerates hatred and prejudice it is easy to cut a site like fornits loose with very little pressure applied to them. . If someone could talk to him about his hatred and prejudice and explain that, although, it is all part of providing a platform for free speech his actions are not helping fornits or the kids entering these programs. Maybe there is some better way for him express his hatred than here on fornits.

Ummm.. a big part of the whole picture with godaddy was a piece of shit letter from sue sue that insisted she had called the po po, the fbi, and the vatican in to investigate fornits for various acts of cyber-rape.
Godaddy got cold feet and said, "WTf.. I could bother with this shit, but I'm here to make a buck. Dump fornits.. replace them with someone else."
Godaddy simply made the easiest decision for their time and money. Businessmen and women do this all the time.
Who helped get fornits over to dreamhost? Someone pony up some lucre to help out or what?

Ya. And she couldn't even fake the case number correctly. I called the po po and tried to find it... They said the number I quoted wasn't a case number and didn't remotely even resemble one.

Know why she never filed a police report? IMO, it's because the police would look into it, decide her claims were false, and end up arresting her for filing a false police report... but Godaddy never checked, and just bent over like good little corporate bitches.
