No he doesn't. The principle describes him as the bravest boy he's ever known. Do you really think you're bucking the system if the principle says that about you? The student was probably just voicing a popular sentiment that played upon people's resentments of not being picked for the "pipe band"...hence the standing ovation. Puke

it actually went further than being picked for teams. The reference to expulsions was about the fact that a whole bunch of boys were caught taking drugs on a school camp and only those without influential parents actually got expelled. I was surprised though that the headmaster backed the boy in the end.
