Title: The UN "Convention on rights of children"
Post by: Anonymous on November 14, 2007, 02:13:39 PM
Ratified by all but 2 countries - the United States and Somalia. Please pay close attention to articles 13-19. Enjoy -

I suppose one of reasons it has not been ratified is because of political/religious conservatives - which is why I suppose these treatment programs can claim to "cure" or treat homosexuality. (hahaha - try treating a normal sexual variation!)

Anyway, try looking at the inroads groups have made fighting "reparative therapy" - you will see similiarities all around.

What exalted status we have when we share the same dubious distinction as Somalia.

Also, there are civil rights that include adequate nutrition, health care, education, and labor protections. Our key corporations don’t want to loose a significant portion of their workforce--children. Both in this country (migrant workers) and outside.  Also, any social welfare/ human rights article/focus is dangerous for them.

It limits their power, and encourages a certain class solidarity that’s  potentially explosive They don’t want a retread of the 1920-40s.

It's because of the lack of ratification of this treaty is why the Troubled Teen industry and the escort companies are allowed to exist in this countries. Parents can legally place their kids in isolation and be unaware of their safety, and in some cases can hire excorters to legally abduct their kids to take them to these torture programs.

I've done some research and so far the U.S. is the ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD were places and businesses like these to hold teens against their will in remote locations. I myself am still trying to recover from the abuse I experienced at the program my parents placed me in. If the CRC was ratified, I wouldn't have gone through this and I wouldn't be dealing with post traumatic stress right now.

And look at this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dVyf1eHIuA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dVyf1eHIuA) it's people like this bitch that opposes the CRC the mastermind behind the weak regulation of child welfare and the existence of specialized programs for troubled teens. One word; FUCK YOU ya brainwashing bitch! ::unhappy::
