This test is constructed for the purpose of parents to determine the necessity of their teen entering a Residential Treatment Center, Wilderness Camp, or other 24/7 placement. All information submitted is confidential and is not stored on our servers.
Once you have completed the test, a percentage-based Residential Placement Indicator will be displayed. This value is computed scientifically, and reflects the results of years of research by our top-quality, Masters-level staff. There will be a placement recommendation, as well as a list of relevant links to websites that may be of further help to you and your troubled teen.
Please check which selection reflects your child's current situation with regards to sexual activity. Remember, girls have to be checked once a week by their fathers for virginity.
Talks to his friends like he's a stud, but maybe has done it once or twice
She's just like her mother, only her mother gets paid for it
Doesn't have sex, but his computer chair's always sticky
She doesn't wear dresses like God intended her to wear.
Is THIS why she always gets A's in that one class?!
She tells me she doesn't even look at the boys in that way, and I believe her. Hold up, someone's selling the Brooklyn Bridge on Ebay...
He hasn't have sex with a single girl in a while. (Usually he has it with two at once.)
Wait, you mean she's not actually going to their houses to play Parcheesi?
We solved this problem a while back. Dildos and Fleshlights don't get STDs.
None of the above
Please check which currently reflects your child's situation with regards to drugs.
Doesn't do drugs, at least that I know of
Doesn't need drugs- he's always like this
All our spoons seem to be burned for some weird reason
We put him on all the drugs he's on, but he seems to run out too fast and he always has money...
I know he doesn't do drugs, because I watch him like a hawk on the nights he's home
I suspect my son or daughter might be using marijuana, and this frightens me.
Just his usual 'roids
He told me it was an "herbal relaxant". And wasn't that resin for Home Ec class?
None of the above
Please check all music, books, and video games you've found on your child's computer or in his room that might make his brain unclean (and potentially in need of a good washing)

A new school year is always promising. A fresh start, new teachers, different classes…like the New Year itself, the start of a new school year holds plenty of potential. So much in fact, that you may be tempted to think it even holds the answer to your child's pattern of academic or behavioral problems. You may even decide to postpone enrolling your teen in a boarding program in order to "wait and see" how they do during the first few weeks of the semester.
While this approach can work (a teen may make extra effort if he/she mistakenly perceives boarding school as a threat rather than a solution, for example) most of the time it only prolongs the inevitable. Worse still, it could even prevent your child from getting the help they need to make some positive life changes.
Even if your kid is improving at home, send 'em anyway. Reminds me of Newton's "dry druggie" theory.
If you've considered enrolling your teen in a therapeutic day or boarding school, here are five reasons to enroll now – not wait for mid-semester:
1. Same school, different year. Your child will certainly have matured see above in blue over the summer, but if your teen has been labeled a "problem" in the past, they are likely to continue having difficulties as long as they are enrolled at that institution. After all, for all intents and purposes, the school's policies and academic approach will remain the same.
2. Escape the pressure of peer pressure. Just as the school's philosophy and approach won't change just because your teen is moving into a new grade level, neither will their peer group. And if your teen seems susceptible to unhealthy peer group influence, that's probably not going to change until they are able to distance themselves from that group. And while that may sound simple enough, shifting social ties is an emotionally difficult experience for the most well-balanced teen.
yeah, no shit. And being in a confrontational, degrading and humiliating environment does not a healthy child make.
3. The chance for change. A new school year may promise a new start, but a new school environment (complete with new staff and new peers) can give your teen the space to be themselves :o Huh? Are they serious?? – and to deal with specific academic or behavioral challenges in an environment specifically designed to offer the emotional, personal and classroom support they need. A caring boarding school community is designed to provide that support 24/7.
4. Start the year on the right foot – and stay there. Boarding schools that cater specifically to the needs of students struggling with social, behavioral or academic problems provide support for parents and families, not just the individual student. Boarding schools also work hard to provide thorough, timely and consistent communication, progress reports and updates. Yeah, the 'work hard' to provide communication and updates. Restricted and monitored communication between parent and child does not trust develop. They also offer the resources to foster a stronger, healthier, more positive relationship between you and your teen. How when they're separated for so long with little communication and what little there is, is monitored by staff? Starting this process as soon as possible will help you and your teen start the new school year feeling positive and optimistic rather than trapped in a stereotype they feel unable to shake.
5. Postponing enrollment could mean missing enrollment. Boarding enrollment fills up fast. The longer you wait before deciding to enroll your teen in a boarding program, the less chance you have of getting them into the program of your choice. By the time the school year starts, most boarding programs find their enrollment full – often with a waiting list. In fact, access to the best programs can be next to impossible once the school year has begun.
If you would like to talk to a counselor about how a boarding school could benefit your child, please fill out a contact form call (888) 972-7736

Good Post Anne..... I think fornits is finally starting to soften a little.
Has your child had recurring problems due to..
Any traumatic events or changes in his /her life? (i.e. abuse, divorce, death, etc.)
Inability to manage anger
Most teens have a poor ability to manage anger until they mature a little. Its very difficult to mature in a closed and isolated society.
Within the last six months, has your child:
Had any changes in behavior and / or mood? (i.e. sad, angry, withdrawn, etc.)
Most teens have mood swings. BIG ones. They're angry, sullen, moody, argumentative etc. So what? Be a parent and deal with it.
Exhibited depressive symptoms? (i.e. weight loss, weight gain, excessive sleep, etc.)
Most teens go through depressive periods. Most teens experience weight loss or gain and I don't know of one teen who doesn't sleep A LOT.
Had problems getting along with others?
Typical of teens
Do you suspect that your child has used drugs or alcohol?
Typical of teens
Has your child disregarded family rules and parental guidance?
Typical of teens
Has you child been able to escape consequences due to the ability to manipulate people and situations?
Typical of teens. They'll fix that right quick, won't they?
Had problems in school? (i.e. poor grades, challenging authority, etc.)
Typical of teens
Intentionally frightened others?
Made threatening statements in writing?
Implied that they may have a plan for violent or suicidal behavior?
Implied that they have identified a target for violence?
Been destructive to property?
If there are TRUE signs of suicidal or homicidal ideation GET REAL HELP! Don't ship them off to some quack who uses unproven, degrading and coercive methods of "treatment".
The only thing that's softening is your head. These bogus 'assessments' are ridiculous. Those "symptoms" could fit just about any teen in America. Oh, wait. That's right. You guys are on a mission to get as many kids as you can into your little mindrape mills. More money AND you get to turn out boatloads of obedient little drones. What fun!.

Geeeze, here we go with the personal insults again.
These bogus 'assessments' are ridiculous. Those "symptoms" could fit just about any teen in America.
You people are so set on deceiving parents that you cant even understand an assessment test or list of symptoms. This is a list for parents to review to see if their child may be a candidate for their school. Any one symptom doesn’t necessarily mean the child is at-risk it merely serves as a red flag. If a parent is concerned with their childs behavior and fits a category on the list then the schools may be able to help them.
Let me try to simplify it for you further:
When doctors try to educate patients to be conscience of the warning signs of, say, cancer they would put out a similar list on the internet like this:
Over the past several months have you experienced any of the following symptoms:
1. Indigestion or difficulty in swallowing.
2. Change in bowel or bladder habits
3. Cough that persist for more than 2 weeks.
4. tiredness and /or weight loss
5. Persistent pain or discomfort in the abdomen
6. Fever
7. swelling that has progressively enlarged
Any one of these symptoms doesn’t mean you have cancer and that you should go directly onto kemo, they are warning signs and should be listened to and you may want to consult a doctor. They are not alarming the public, but merely educating them and trying to help.
The same applies to the list of warning signs for struggling teens. I think it is a good list, don’t try to read too far into it. If a child has a problem in these areas they need to consult a professional to have the child assessed, (the schools will tell you this, prior to applying).
Oh, wait. That's right. You guys are on a mission to get as many kids as you can into your little mindrape mills. More money AND you get to turn out boatloads of obedient little drones. What fun!.
Lots of sarcasm and anger, sorry you were hurt by the industry, Anne, but there is a lot of good being done today and it would be a shame to deny parents information which could help their children. They need to be careful and listen to the warning signs and this applies to choosing a school also.

Prove it.
It is being proven every day and every year as thousands of kids are moving onto some of the top colleges in the country from these TBS’s.
Parents need to do their job and quit outsourcing it to un-qualified strangers using un-proven and questionable methods of treatment.
Of course they do, we all learn this from the first time parents place their child in a day care or utilize a babysitter, choose a pediatrician or private school. I don’t think any parent sends their kids to unqualified people with questionable methods.
In this case parents need to talk to other parents who had kids graduate from the schools and then meet with the staff who will be working with your child. The same as you would in any other circumstance.

Am I an Addict?
Only you can answer this question.
This may not be an easy thing to do. All through our usage, we told ourselves, “I can handle it.â€

You see you can act as rude as you want to parents here, but as soon as I say something to you, you start crying foul. "The who is bashing survivors again!!! He should be banned, he has no respect for us" Ha,Ha,Ha
I have never advocated for banning you. In fact, I've said that I see no reason to (not that it would do any good anyway). But feel free to lie again and lump me in with everyone else.
It is being proven every day and every year as thousands of kids are moving onto some of the top colleges in the country from these TBS’s.
Really? Any clinical data or research to back any of that up? No? Color me shocked.

Talk to the parents who had kids graduate from the schools, visit the schools themselves. When kids are about ready to get an operation parents don’t wade thru piles of clinical trials.. they speak to the professionals and talk to the doctor who will be working with their child
I must have missed it, did you say you provided proof the schools were ineffective? No? didn’t think so…..

So your answer is no.

Listen carefully and read for comprehension. THE BURDEN OF PROOF FALLS UPON YOU. If you're going to state that these places are effective and do indeed "help", then it is incumbent upon YOU to provide proof of such claims.
Still nothing about Bain Capital huh??
-
"graduate" - Oops, they're not an actual school, so they can't do that. At least not in the eyes of anyone who matters, like actual colleges.
"school" - Nope. Still not an actual school.
Your attempt to liken these shitpits to activities done by real professionals fails.
Again.
As it did the last hundred times you tried it.
Nope Who- you're still not getting any referrals from anyone reading Fornits. Nor are you even beginning to slow the tide of ownaj. You fail.

If you are going to state they are ineefective you are going to have to come up with some type of proof, whether it falls on someone else or not. So I assume you have no clinical trials or studies to support your side? Thought as much.
So what we have are no current clinical trials or studies...... so next step is to talk to the professionals, a few of the tens of thouseands of parents who had kids graduate from these schools and then visit the school and talk to the staff and people who will be working with your child.
Its important that the parents get comfortable with the people who will be helping them.

Hear,Hear !! I tend to agree, this is a good place to stop.
One final note though:
I dont see why any place would want to spend time and money on clinical studies when they have people breaking the doors down to get their kids help and the success rates are thru the roof. The time for studies will come.
The parents who demand to see a study will have to wait until the need arises or there is enough pressure or time to order one done. I am sure, like everything else, eventually the studies will get done.

I really dont know the answer to that, I am sure the schools are not effective for everyone... but there are 20,000 to 50,000 kids who attend these places each year and do really well. Maybe the kids who dont do well are not matched with the right school, never applied themselves, are having issues outside of the help the schools can offer, the schools might have just been ineffective for them, ineffective staff member. These issues may be unrelated to the schools also....
This may be a strong argument for getting some of the clinical studies done that we have been talking about. I know I am all for it.
