Title: Hyde School (Maine). Pro!
Post by: Annuit Coeptis on November 02, 2007, 12:54:12 PM
So I have been reading through posts and different forum topics lately regarding the Hyde Schools and all that pertains.
There is just so much crap and one dimentional thinking.
I graduated with the class 2007. I had many ups and downs.
I made minor 'ethical mistakes', while being a top 'problem' due to arrogance and always willing to give disrespect.
I hated Hyde a lot...while I was there.
My senior year changed me, my perspective on life, and all things encompassing.

You know those stories of kids who hate Hyde...and even didn't graduate at the highest of class but learn more than just about anyone? Yeah, you could say that's me.

Hyde made me an analyst. I take situations and can access them on a very different level as the 'average human'.

So all you people, 'ursus'? and everyone who are just going to sit up late on your computers looking at every post with veins pulsing in anger.
Have fun...You are the people hyde tried to get through to but couldn't due to yourself.

All of you can guess who I am, access and break down my choice of words to somehow make me look bad, and make yourself 'right' and temporarily feel good.

Hyde is a debate, especially from an 'honest' Hydee to a 'dishonest' Hydee.

I'm out (french class is over)... lunch. pppeace.

So you learned that making staff making sexual advances to students really is okay?

By the way, shithead, change your fucking name. You have no idea who you're offending with it.

Tisk Tisk, all the swearing. You guys have some pushups to do. Or else I'll get a dorm parent.

I could have sworn I never said, during my entry, that teachers making sexual advances on students is acceptable. Nor do I think that. Nor do I condone that.

All of you 'guests' are harsh with words.

Is it just me, or are all the angry 'guests' just envious Documents?

If you have not gone to Hyde within the past 7 odd years you should keep your outdated opinions to yourself, or another forum topic.

Annuit coeptit (AC),

If you've really got balls, you'll go to the Hyde School forum and address yourself to the charges, one by one; there are hundreds of them.

Best of luck to you.

Hey CCM, why don't you try being nice for once in your life or has the botched programming that these programs teach turned your mellon to mush.

Have a great weekend everybody......BP

Well, well, well.  The man claims Maine, but alleged to have attended Woodstock when last he graced these pages with his tender phrases!!!  At the time, he was doing some extracurricular work for the admissions office, literally.  Yup, folks, posting in fornits was part of his job!

Whassamatter, Billy?  You so starved for some extra attention that you're coming 'round again?  Or is this some special favor for 'Miss Laura?'  We know you harbor something deep and special there, something that I am sure none of us could possibly understand.

I feel bad for you, bro.  You need to pull your head out of your butt 'fore you suffocate.

This isn't about 'who i am'... it's about 'where im going' haha a little Hyde humor.

Anyways i'm here the same reason all of you are...To share thoughts, mine are different, doesn't make me wrong?!

Hyde has holes but so do the majority of kids that go. Doesn't mean the imperfect Hyde can't patch up some of the kids.

You people need to pick better battles. FIGHTING, and trying to get kids to sue, a school that is meant to HELP us confused people out is rediculous.

I am a former student at Hyde and although I am not the original poster I wanted to respond to this last "Jeez" post. Dubinsky was FORCED to resign not because of an "insane" parent but because he was sexually harassing female students for years. Secondly the case was not thrown out of court but was settled by Hyde's insurance company. Thirdly you must be a Hyde student or staff member because nothing you said is accurate or true.

Billy,

Ever heard of malpractice? That's with a mal as in Malcolm. Doctor fucks up repeatedly, gets sued.

A bit of personal advice to you, since you see fit to dish it out to others. You jump on to this site behaving like a naive dork with your Latin and Greek words, your arrogance equaled only by your stupidity. You're so ridiculous it's hard to tell if you're for real. Stop writing posts to Fornits during French class and concentrate on your studies. Take more humanities courses. Eventually you'll be able to words like analyst and temporarily and capitalize French and people's names. I for my part will try my best to cut you some slack since you're a newly brainwashed.

Hey, buddy, 'tis Hyde that first broached the pretension of being more than "just a high school" to begin with.  "Preparation for Life?"  Ha ha haaa!!  Gimmee a break!

Billy likes fat furry targets.  Thinks he can't miss.  Ha ha haaa!!!  Better go back to target practice, and learn you some lessons from some real pros, boy.  Being a shill on the hill is no place for the faint of character!!

Myself, I'm glad Billy's back.  We could use the comic relief.  As to what he might learn?  'Fraid that orifice is designed for dispensing only. Might be a long, hard road of some painful hard knocks 'fore he's able to build some flexibility into that mouthpiece.

Curious that he's chosen to pull it into the larger forum.

It is interesting to me that you people can bash on it though.

Billy Procida was the only pro-Hyde student to post on Fornits until you came along. Your "Pro" (pro-Hyde?) led me to believe that you were him. I wasn't bashing Billy, really. As a matter of fact, I thought him sincere, gutsy, and unusually open-minded for a Hyde student. My apologies to you and him for the mix-up.

Okay... so clearly much has transpired since last I visited...

1.)  If there has been an error in identification, I should take the brunt of, if not the entirety of, the blame.  Looking back in the thread, it is clear that the chorus of "Billys" arose in the aftermath of my identifying AC as such, and if that was indeed in error, then I am at fault.  If that is the case, I am sorry.

This brings about an interesting aside, namely one of the believability of such an error.  Although the stance of most of fornits' aficionados is that of the inappropriateness of the "one size fits all" camp of thinking, it is obvious that there are... er... certain distinctive characteristics of program proponents or apologists which echo in eerily similar cadence.

2.)  If Mr. AC is serious in wishing to engage in debate or discussion as to the merits of the Hyde "philosophy," I might recommend that he engage in one of any numerous threads currently underway in discussion on the Hyde forum itself:
http://wwf.fornits.com/viewforum.php?f=43 (http://wwf.fornits.com/viewforum.php?f=43)

As an aside to this I might recommend, based partly on sentiments expressed in this here thread itself, that Mr. AC adopt a more appropriate user name more conducive to who he is himself, rather than any grandiose visions of changing the world.  I say this with all due respect, not wishing to undermine any aspirations or values or deeply held feelings or identifications, but merely wishing to assist Mr. AC in being taken seriously.

Changing one's user name, incidentally, is accomplished quite easily on one's "Profile" page.

Translating ANNUIT COEPTIS

Annuit means to nod assent, to favor, to smile upon.
Coeptis means undertakings, endeavors, beginnings.

Annuit coeptis means "favors (lit., gives the nod to) undertakings." The subject must be supplied. Who favors? The Eye (Providence) does.

The verb annuit can be either present tense or perfect tense, therefore an accurate translation of the motto is: "Providence favors our undertakings" or "Providence has favored our undertakings." (The word "our" is supplied.)

(It has also been translated as: "He favors our undertakings" or "He has prospered our endeavors.")

The meaning of this motto is better understood when seen in its original classical context.

I should probably interject here, for the benefit of those who don't usually follow the Hyde forum, that recently there have been a number of visits from Hyde trolls.  More specifically, people in the employment or company of Hyde School who seek to cause disruption or discord amongst fornits posters.  At this point, I am not even sure that a character such as AC exists, or even whether it is one person or a few who post under that name.  What the mundane realities are about those details probably does not really matter.  It is a game for these people.  Suffice it to say, they speak cult.

Well does Hyde turn them out or does the Hyde pitch cause a self selection bias toward arrogance?
Arrogance is not a character flaw.  Arrogance is a characteristic. It can be a tool.  The notion that characters are "flawed" is just buying into the Hyde cant.  The notion that a character is flawed implies that a character could be perfected.  So would the perfect character be somber or humorous?  Who's character is more perfect: Mel Brooks or Robert Frost; Edward Hopper or Norman Rockwell; Norman Vincent Peale or Wavy Gravy; AC or Ursus; Jesus or Snoop Dog?

See now I am arrogant enough to think I can tell you where to get off with your snippy little comment about Hyde attendees.  Arrogant enough to think I can give a talk to back it up. But I am also self aware on that aspect of my self.  It is not a flaw. It is who I am.

Snoop Dogg kicks ass over jesus anyday.

And it is pretty true the pro-hyde flunkies tend to come across as extremely arrogant. It is like they are proud to be part of some special elite group or something. Kind of sad really and I sort of feel sorry for them as the price they must have paid to be in such exalted company.

How many others did they step on, trample, and treat like shit to get to through Hyde?

Probably an uncountably high number.

The grads don't need our scorn. They need our pity, compassion, and understanding. We who have overcome the ideology of the programs should know where they are at. It wasn't easy for those of us who broke the chains that held our minds in place.

Show these poor kids love.. they need it in the worst way.. as they sure didn't get it in the cold harsh walls of Hyde.

I agree.. don't hate guys like AC. Just be patient with him and try your best to help him understand that what happened to him was wrong and not his fault.

Hyde is alot like rape. You never should treat a rape victim with anger. Be gentle and be compassionate..

Che Gookin, I'm starting to believe you don't have an inferiority complex, but really are inferior.

Jesus has more homies and a lot more better quotes.
As Christians we hate the sin but love the sinner.

...And this is what boggles my mind.
"What happened to me was wrong and not my fault" haha.
It's in the eye of the beholder my man.
I don't feel 'raped' by any means.
If I didn't attend Hyde, I was on the path to failing high school, having a really shitty angry relationship with my parents, etc.
Then again, I was the athlete non druggie non fucked up type kid.
I had my niches, not like suicide and self hatred, but like arrogance and temper...and not very good at math.
Were there sketchy times at Hyde? You bet.
Was it weird when Mr. Bragg said we couldn't have 'breast sex'? You bet.
Did it potentially save my family? You bet.

Sounds like same niches still there, and still "can't think too good".

Are you saying it didn't actually? Sorry, AC, couldn't resist.

I see leadership by example here: raising the level of debate with an ad honinem attract. Very nice.  Good to see it is not just Hyde grads struggling with mental processes.  I will just tune in the Rush Limbaugh Show and listen to some one that is really good at those kinds of antics.
