It was a hard fought campaign. Many lives were lost.. terrible havoc was wreaked..
but today fornits is free from Tryanny!
Today I struck a blow to the heart of all admins!
As of now the only admin remain is Ginger.
psy, deborah, froderik, dynamic korea, jolly rogers, web diva
had the admin final solution administered.
Go in peace my children.. no more will we hear the bleats of the liars known as the who or the ccm cunt as we no longer have admins.
And someone deadmin my ass.. I'm getting tempted to change the whos user title.. Again..

Wow! The rumors have been so much more interesting than the truth.
I just removed admin status from all regular user accounts, including my own, and set up a couple of admin accounts for regular use for tech isses and the very occasional moderation/admin tasks that we need to do. For the most part, the software takes care of spam, flooding, etc. (kiss a tech today!) so there's really no need to have half a dozen admins anymore. Plus it makes it inconvenient, and therefore less tempting, for any of us to peek at ip addresses.
This was the main reason for the change. You don't have to be particularly corrupt or power hungry to be tempted to know a little more about a guest poster than everybody else. And, no matter how pure your intentions and integrity, it's just impossible to participate in a discussion with that knowledge in your mind and without letting it influence your tone and conduct.
So this should help that quite a bit till we can get the software upgrade underway. That should be coming down the pike soon.

I also hope that the new software limits the abilities of moderators to view IPs as well.

It IS nice to know that all these admins will no longer be able to look me up... that much is appreciated. What I don't like is the fact that TheWho's posts will no longer be sabotaged and/or deleted; that part of it sucks.

I know exactly how good of a job I've done. Remember.. they not only whine to you.. they whine to others as well. Some of those others are good about keeping me informed.
