Title: AARC SAVED MY LIFE
Post by: Anonymous on October 22, 2007, 12:06:52 AM
I graduated from AARC 6 years ago. It saved my life.  I was angry too when I got out. I tried to blame the whole world. When I started taking accountability for my own actions - AND REACTIONS, I healed.

I am sober now. Mind, body and soul.

I'm sorry you may all have different experiences, but don't take away from those who actually did get help.

Worry about your own selves.

Peace

But you see that's the problem, to many AARC survivors have kept quiet about the abuse they witnessed, participated  in, or suffered. That's changing and watching the avalanche is going to make for some pretty interesting conversation in Alberta and Canada as a whole. Why were you angry when you got out? Why were you mad at the world? The folks that post and the ones who don't have good reasons for being angry with AARC, reasons anyone familiar with Straight, Kids, or other offshoots know all to well. AARC needs to take responsibility for allowing and perpetrating abuse, not these survivors or you.
