Interestingly enough. After contacting the Browning County sherrifs dept, it was discovered she never filed anything. The case number didn't even fit the format they use.
When 20/20 was contacted, they didn't seem to know anything about Sue Sheff either.
Also. Her name, which she claims to be trademarked... Isn't. She lied about that too:

I think ya'll will find this interesting. I released a web wire this weekend and it was pulled. Also, I tried to have it show as a sponsored link using Sue's name, just like she has done using my name. (Google my name, you will see her webwires and her sponsored link using my name.)
I want ya'll to read Webwire/Google's reason why I can not use Sue's name (although she uses mine).
And, I want ya'll to see how they are going to leave hers up (even though they admit hers violates their policy as mine did.) Actually they pulled my "How Free is Free Speech" webwire and my "Sue Scheff's Undocumented Case" webwire.
You have to read the email thread from the bottom up.
Our information regarding the ownership of the name "Sue Scheff" comes from Google. They conveyed to us that efforts were made to protect the name as property within Google's keyword driven advertising efforts (which are what power our WebRelease product).

We need help countering Sue's manipulation of the search engines.
We need links and references on sites like Fark, Encyclopedia Dramatica or any other site which you may frequent. (a reference in your signature is a good way to effortlessly give a little promo)
We need ideas.
Money's nice too, but as of yet I can't say exactly how it will be spent. The overall objective is to make Fornits.com a self sustaining net publication similar in structure to FARK or Something Awful or Huffington Post (that's vague, I know, but there is a common thread in there somewhere we just have to further define it)

You can post comments, forum posts, submit articles to FARK like sites, etc. The idea is to connect with the like minded netizens of Cyberia and bring this travesty of justice to their attention. We have a slight advantage in that Sue Scheff has to pay people to fabricate a clean and upstanding reputation for her. We have the truth driven by righteous outrage.

No! Some people have more money than time. If you're not one of those then don't even think of it. I'm sort of a freak for efficiency. Whatever you decide to do to help, I want you to accomplish more than just helping fornits in the process. At the very least, you should enjoy doing it and, hopefully, make new friends, meet new and interesting people and learn something valuable from it.
I'm waiting for permission from my friends to post a picture from the party I attended last weekend just to illustrate what I mean. While this whole site and related projects do deal with intensely serious issues and we are doing some good, I'm not burning myself out or letting it consume me and I hope no one else is either.

Holy crap! Now that's a turn around. I used to be very active w/ Mapinc. When I started Fornits, they sort of refused to help because they'd gotten on the 'treatment not incarceration' bandwaggon. I guess they've had a change of heart. I should talk to them. Thanks!

I don't want to go to war with them, though. They're basically on the right track and do a whole lot of good. I'm just waiting for them to finally come around and recognize their error. Not holding out much hope anymore, though. I know where their money comes from, much of it anyway and the primary big buck supporters are invested in treatment and insurance.

No, it was a published letter to an editor. Robert Sharpe, I think was the author. Last I checked, Arnie had sort of parted ways with Drug Policy Foundation. They even changed their name to Drug Policy Alliance.

This is pretty much all that MAPinc does, except that they have it exceptionally well organized and it's got a whole lot of momentum.
We could set aside a space where we could aggregate articles and other media relating to our issues so that anyone who wants to can easily browse the news of the day relating to our issues and easily respond. This is what I've tried several times to launch as the Cassandra Project.
If there's interest enough, and I think there is at this point, then maybe it's time to trot old lady (Cassandra) out again and see if she'll dance?

The “Internet Wolverine” responds to threats by Sue Scheff, her company PURE (Parents Universal Resource Experts), and others in the private “teen help” business:

Ginger Warbis, living somewhere in Virginia, is no ordinary woman. She began her controversial electronic publishing site at Fornits.com over five years ago. Flanked and protected, pro bono, by Attorney Philip Elberg, Warbis is fearless in her exposure of the burgeoning and dangerously unregulated industry called the “troubled teen” or “teen help” industry.
If you dare enter Ginger Warbis’ Web World, you are forewarned that it is not for the weak of heart. The posts are crude and nasty at times, but most hit to the heart of a uniquely American tragedy.
“Oh, the irony of it all,” Ginger Warbis exclaims in a recent post on her site as she writes under the pen name of “Scarlett Chiclet.” In the span of a few years, this angry advocate has transformed herself from a rough hewn virtual-vigilante to a witty, raunchy publicist who isn’t afraid of anyone, anywhere, anytime. Whether you like her or not, one cannot help but admire the tenacity of Ginger Warbis and her band of mischievous Internet crusaders.
Warbis’ arch-enemy at the moment is Sue Scheff, a self-proclaimed “resource expert,” who places children in programs, sometime unsafe ones, that pay Scheff substantial sums of money. According to bloggers, Scheff recently tried to shut down the Fornits.com site and silence Ms. Warbis’ prolific criticism of Scheff and others like Scheff.
In response, Warbis moved her Internet presence to Canada. The Fornits.com site is now spawning anti-Sue Scheff sites too numerous to track, such as www.sueschefftruth.com (http://www.sueschefftruth.com).
Why is Ginger Warbis so tenacious and tough? She characterizes herself as a “prisoner of war” who survived the now defunct Straight Program. As a child in the early 1980s, Warbis said she was held against her will for two years at Straight in Florida, deprived of a meaningful education, and forced to confess and engage in acts against her will.
Attorney Elberg, who defends Warbis’ right to speak, has won multi-million dollar settlements against those victimizing children in private programs. Elberg also criticizes Scheff and her practices of using her money to silence those who disagree with her.
In an apparent response to Sue Scheff’s attempt to take down Fornits.com, Ginger Warbis challenges:
“Sue me! I beg of you, bring this fight back into the public eye in any way you can. . . .”
With the help of Attorney Elberg, she won dismissal of a 2004 case that Sue Scheff, the wealthy heiress, and PURE, filed against Warbis for defamation and invasion of privacy.
Underscoring her determination, Warbis writes: “You spoiled yuppie scumbags think a civil suit or public embarrassment or the prospect of losing some of your precious stuff is too horrible to even think about. I'm made of stone . . . . tough, so far beyond the need for creature comforts and social acceptance. . . .”
It does not appear that Ginger Warbis will be folding Fornits.com anytime soon. In the meantime, Sue Scheff has hired a company to saturate the Internet with self-created positive comments and web sites about her and her company, in the hope of countering the mounting guerilla forces of Ginger Warbis and Fornits.com.

If Google or the other search engines are playing hanky-panky with stuff that has Sue's name on it, intentionally misspell her name and post away.
People will find it. By word of mouth, people will start to think that's the correct spelling. Use Susan, Suzanne, Sue-anne. Schef, Sheff, Sheffe, Scheffe, all combinations. "Sue (from PURE) Scheff" is unlikely to trigger Google's "we took it off because it's a trademark" and is likely to come up somewhere in the search.
Computers are usually easier to confuse than they are to make confusion-proof.
