RUSKIN/SUN CITY CENTER Cockroach Bay Users Group
An informational center has been constructed by the Cockroach Bay Users Group (C-BUG) at the end of Cockroach Bay Road, just southeast of the launch ramp. A variety of instructional panels and a navigational take-along brochure are being prepared by organizations and government agencies for the center. Two additional centers are planned for other entrances. The purpose of the centers is to provide up-to-date environmental knowledge to serious anglers, birders and nature lovers who want to use the aquatic preserves waters without stressing the natural plant and fish habitats. Membership is $10 per year, which includes a decal for boats. For information, call 645-2032, 645-3888, 645-0082 or 634-7440.

Alternative Education Seminar Representatives of Alternative Education Programs for Troubled Adolescents will present a free seminar from 3 to 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Wyndham Harbor Island Hotel in downtown Tampa. They will present information about their distinctive programs at Hidden Lake Academy, near Atlanta, Hyde School in Maine and Three Springs Center in the southeast. These schools provide service for teenagers who are experiencing behavioral disorders, drugs or alcohol-related problems or family conflicts and disruptions, where the traditional school setting and the supports within the local community are not adequate. The Alternative Education Programs offer a therapeutic and structured environment, highly trained counselors, academic programs geared to individual students' need and support for families. The seminar is being hosted by educational consultant, Alix Berlien of Greenwood Associates, a career and college counseling group. For more information, call 254-5303.

THE COUNTY County Food Program
The 10-year-old Hillsborough County program that distributed dairy products, canned goods and other food to some of the area's neediest residents has ended because of federal cutbacks. The county staff has monitored the federal budget process but so far has not seen any hope that funding for the commodity food program will be restored. In the meantime, residents who need information about other food programs are urged to call on of the county's neighborhood service centers or the University Community Resource Center. Call Ruskin-671-7647, West Tampa-272-5074, Plant City-757-3871 and Lee Davis-272-5220. Call UCRC at 975-2121.

That is why I have a Hyde School decal on my car back window.  I want everyone to know I was wacky on the stuff when I was a kid.

They might well think you are still wacky.

No offense meant, but a razor-scraper and soaking with butter will get it off should you wish to come to your senses.

God DAMN!  Everytime I think it can't get creepier it does.  Straight's flagship program and headquarters were in St. Petersburg (my home town, still here).

I've never heard of the guy, but that's not saying much.  I had no idea that Straight went on or that there were other similar programs out there until just a few years ago.  I was driving down the road and saw a billboard addressed to Straight Survivors.  A week or so later there was an article in the Times that my mother pointed out to me.  It listed Arnold Trebach's site and I found Fornits from there.  Until then I thought Straight and it's concept died out a long time back.

Silly me.

I can totally identify as when I got out of Straight I was definitely not looking for another place like Straight. While I was in the Atlanta Straight I about freaked out when a guy from the St Pete location was transferred there because he was misbehaving and I guess was too much for staff there. I remembered the freaking song we use to sing in Open Meetings that said that it started in St Pete, but they never said it was like cancer and spreaded all over the US.

As far as it goes Teen Torture and Child Abuse was a money making venture for Mel and Betty Sembler and they wanted as much of it as they could get. More kids = More money.

Hey... You in this business too?  I don't seem to remember you from the annual Milk Them Fuckin Suckers For All They've Got meetings, but hey, the industry is growing... Long as we keep ol Bush Bits at the podium, there should be enough room for all of us, Har-de-Har Har Har!

Dear Cy,

I wish I had another daughter because you sound like such a fine, upstanding young man, I'd be more than honored to have you as a member of my family.  We could also use some more fresh familial bonds tying things together up here in Maine, since Laurie and Paul are dropping the ball and have decided to go selfish on me.

And that ugly old hairball Ursus ain't nothing but a loud-mouthed panty-waist to me, don't you worry about me.  If that gutless anal wonder of a bear carcass ever shows his fat, bad-breathed face on any of my ever-increasing number of campuses, I'll...

...go to Hawaii!!  Well, not willingly, but... you know how it is.  My people take care of me.  Nice to learn that you're one of them.

You may think you can pull the wool over all your students eyes by shaking your bazookas at them, Mrs. Newton, but I, myself, am way too old for that kind of crap!  Not to mention that I could easily squash every little rubbery limb in that smelly old carcass of yours!  Not that I'd care to even try, or even could try, BELIEVE me, you're no Mrs. Robinson!!

And as to that other old windbag finally coming around here, you can take your character crap and shove it where the sun don't shine.  I hear there's a lot of room up there.

Dear Cy,

Kids these days are spoiled little snot-nosed brats who don't appreciate what their parents have tried to do for them and, more importantly, what we, at the Hyde Schools have dedicated our lives to.  "I can see by the lives of my former students -- some now entering their sixties -- how adolescence is a crucial practice period that can graphically foretell a lifetime."  Like that?  I made that up for a sales pitch, but it's true. I am omniscient; I know these things.    I'm a great judge of character.

Yes, Goodle is a bit of a problem.  I've got 3 former students working on tweaking it full time, that is, when they're not backing me up in seminars and family meetings.  That $16 million comes in handy for something.  I'm not sure they know what they are doing, but they have good character.  They always call me "Sir."

I have to think a bit about the granddaughters, Cy.  They are a bit unripe still.  In the past, this wouldn't have been a problem, but in my old age, I've started to re-think some of these things.  Perhaps it is because they are mine that I am having some problems with it heh, heh... Er, no matter.  Would you possibly be interested in one of the other students?  I could arrange a tour, so to speak, of the campus, Har Har...

Dear Cy,

Have you considered young boys?  There are so many of them from your church that have been just abandoned by the side of the road!
http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/ ... 004711.php (http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/004711.php)

I know if my dear and just-about-oldest friend Sums were still alive, he would certainly get involved with this issue.  He was quite proactive in related issues here on the Bath campus.  Former students whose lost souls found their way back on campus always found in him a warm and caring heart, a safe haven, a compassionate listener.

Henry Milton was even one of his protegees, but that young hot head let things get a little too out of hand.  And that little hotty of a wife he had (I can still hear her giggle, come to think of it)... well, when she got in on the action, we had to put a damper on it (for the rest of that year).  Thurrell screwed it up for everyone by going public.

Concerned,

Dear Joe,

We in the FLDS believe that the best thing for the surplus boys is casting them out to fend as they may.  This will help them develop character.  It is sort of like when you banish problematic children up to that God forsaken wood lot Lennox bought for you in , where is it, Eustis Maine.
Joe you should recall the endearing story you told us about Indian orphans that grew up competing with the tribeal dogs for scraps of food and how that experience developed character.  We are just following your advice.

Hyde was not "Just another boarding school" when I ran it.  Hyde was the crucible where the character of the future leaders of our Nation were formed and refractored.  We were on the way to changing the world until you screwed it up, just because you couldn't finish that stupid book. You could not stand to see me do a better job then you could you?

Why, you smarmy two-faced lisping Texan!  Where the frigin bejesus do you get off trying to steal my thunder?!  I'm having this cordial conversation with this nice upstanding young fellow who stumbled on this fornication board, just like I used to do in the old days with my column in the Pee-Pee Herald... and you come barging on here, hurling insults and innuendo, and waving an Elvis pic like anyone is s'posed to think you look like that these days!  Ha! Ha! and Ha!  I saw a recent pic of you at that podunck piddley-squat lack-luster excuse of an educational backwater, and you look more like a bleached out Ronald McDonald in glasses and straight hair...

Joe,

I am transforming the nature and culture of UNE.  We are committed to to the cultural change of UNE from Podunk commuter school to a National Power house where the leaders of tomorrow are forged at the anvil of Higher Learning.  Are you aware that we recently announced bus service from Saco and Biddeford to our Campus?  It is but a first step and after all as Mao said "patience is a revolutionaries' greatest virtue."   Like I always said Joe, if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem, and you Joe are Hyde's biggest longest lasting problem.  Step down and humble yourself.  Beg me to come back and set Hyde right.

YOU NEVER DID IT!!!!  It's like golf, or sex... ya gotta swivel the motion, de-e-e-ep in your hips... do the hustle!  The black people are really good at this, they're naturals at doing the motion... and emoting... do the hustle!!

You're the failure here, Ed, I'm still at Hyde, I WIN, ha ha!!!

I wouldn't beg you for your mother's long lost toe clippings.  You got the wrong thunk a-thinking, if you 'pect anyone in their right mind will take a long legged droning has-been Elvis impersonator with a Yoko Ono haircut who still wears flared pants seriously!!

   Joe,

As you noted in some of your writings you need to be careful of some of those folks that emote and dance well.  We have always taken that stance in our Church.  The FLDS knows the Mark of Cain when we see it.

I for one think you are doing an excellent job.  The best thing Hyde ever did was canning Legg's sorry ass.  It is good Hyde as a real Leader at the helm, a leader that has captained the ship into profitable waters.

Dear Cy,

I can't tell you how much it means to me to have a fine, fine friend like you here on board in this cesspool of fornits-cators forum.  And it sure was a pleasant surprise to have good ole Ruthie showing up the other day (although she is a little old for me, heh heh).  People like you make me have a deep felt faith that there is still a chance we can get this sorry world into better shape, and change the face of American education.

Yeah, it was a real thrill to can Legg's sorry ass; I would have liked to cane it as well, Har! har!  His last day here, I could scarcely contain my groin!!!

The profitable waters will serve me well when I retire to Hawaii, if I ever do.  I just love the little children so much, I'm not sure that I can bear to separate myself from being a guiding influence in their lives... and young people respond to me... some more than others...

Warmly,
Joseph W. Gau!d, The Educator
