Hello,
I noticed in one of your posts your mentioned you didn't have time to "go to UT."
Are you talking about the University of Texas?
I live in Austin and if you do too, I think it would be fun to drink some beers and slam straight for awhile.
Peace on Earth.

SOrry, that was reference to UTAH most likely. However, being the SRV fan that I am, I would love to come to Austin and listen to his music at some place he frequented before that terrible day way back when.
::cheers::

Hey...
This is Wes, a survivor of the Sprringfield Straight hell. Still, probably like many others, I think of that hell now and again. Always wondering what happened to many of you. I've found a few links that really made me stop and feel. I guess we've lost alot of good peeps out there to that crap. My oldcomer, Dwayne Rolfe, I think... also took his own life not long after I left the program. I am still in contact with his younger brother. So sorry to here all of those other names. Thanks to Straight, I no longer have any contact at all, with my family. 17 years later. I was adopted anyway, and I am now 35 and fairly successfull, so I don't mind it much. Both the mom and dad seperated after I left because the dad wanted to help me. They got mom,hook-line-and sinker. I'm sure if straight was still around, she would still be going to meetings. She went for at least 2 years after I left.Crazy ass people.
Well, if anyone out there still remebers Wes "aint misbehavin", hit me back. It would be good to here from some of you. Some of you may still deserve a good ass-whipping. Hope to here from you'all soon.....Government operates best when it allows all messengers to offer their views, allowing the American people to decide which take root and which wither away.

Hey METALGOD8,
Like you, I'm a big SRV fan. I attended his last five concerts in Atlanta. One of them was at the Fox Theatre on New Year's Eve 1986 with Lonnie Mack. They do a great version of Oreo Cookie Blues from LM's Strike Like Lightnin' album. Most of the concert was broadcast live on a local station (96 Rock) and I happen to have it on CD. I founud it in a store on Beall Street in Memphis, TN and the owner claimed he was friends with SRV. Let me know if you're interested and I'll burn a copy for you. It's awesome! E-mail me at gduncan@bwibooks.com or post here.

Was Blake Warren a transfer from the CA Straight? If so I think she was my oldcomer...I would like to know more about what happened to her?
Thanks for the info

Seeing this topic made me remember a couple of people who are no longer with us.
George Cromwell- If I remember correctly he was a Seed graduate when he came back into the program in St Pete, sometime late '80 or early '81. We were on 4th phase together and he eventually 7-stepped. I remember hearing that he enlisted in the service and was somewhere in Europe hanging out of a train window and got decapitated when another train came by unexpectedly.
Shannon Zuelke- Came into the program in St Pete in '80, not too long after me. We 7-stepped the same night in Atlanta. About 3 years ago she hung herself from a tree with a car safety belt and wasn't found until 2 days later. She was a mother with a young daughter.

Todd McCoy faked his way through the program, he was wasted half the time in the program and most of the time as a 7th stepper. Todd died in a drug deal gone awry, he always thought he was a badass, but was proven wrong on this point in the end.
It always amazed me that alot of 7th steppers would come back into the building and stand in the back of group completely baked - and no one but me seemed to notice. Some of these people would come in to watch open meeting review on Fridays (which I suppose might have been interesting to watch while you were high)and reeked of weed and / or beer - how could the geniuses of Springfield have missed this time after time.
-
nicoleesther- Blake Warren, as I remember him as a 7th stepper was in Sarasota, he was always real tan and had a Peter Frampton style haircut, surfer boy. Real down to earth guy.
Chris Weiss-as I remember him, kinda tall around 6 foot or so, wore dark framed glasses and dark hair and Alan Engman-rather slim guy always tan also and was a pretty nice guy, they were also from Sarasota.

Margaret Dedyne , I would really love to hear from you. I know your out there on the board,
you can email the webmistresses of the board "ginger" and get my email address.
As. for Ann Crampton, everything I do against Straight is for my friends that no longer have a voice, who did not survive. Ann is just one of those, blake warren is another as is reagan fields and the ones I never knew.
Thats why the survivors do what we do.
