Title: If the US govt. didn't exist, would you be out of a job?

A surprising number of people answer this question: yes. Or never really thought of it before.

Only if I worked for the US Government.

I keep encouraging my kids to find jobs with the Government after graduation.  They have the best pensions and health care.

Not really a realistic question.  If the US Govt didn't exist, society as we know it, the workforce, education, etc, would be completely different so there's NO way to know what jobs would a or would not be available or what kind of education and/or training you would have received before joining the work force. Not to mention l as what opportunities might be available for self employment.

If the US Govt didn't exist, I'd grow weed for a living.
