Bunch of people acting like this girl shot their dog or something, all excited that she has to spend 45 days in jail.. I dont get why other people take such enjoyment watching other people cry and suffer.. fuck cops and fascists and this country is full of both of them.
-
Actually, I'm with you on this. Even though I have ragged on her in the past, she didn't hurt anyone... except herself.

Its a freakin driving infraction for christ sake
-
Don't drive drunk.

Exactly Froderick.
Fame comes with its pitfalls too. She certainly didn't shy away from paparazzi when she was all glam. Well Paris dear, they are just as interested in you when you're donning hand cuffs as they are when you're wearing Vera Wang.
Lets face it ... if your average Joe (me for example) was caught driving drunk, there would be no early release from jail. I'd be expected to serve my 45 days ... no questions asked. Why do celebs feel they are above our laws? Plus, I'm sure she had an around the clock chauffeur at her beck and call. Why didn't she just let him drive her home? Hard but imperative lessons Paris. Even for hotel heiresses.

all the wailing an knashing of teeth that she is done makes me hanker for the days when celebrity bad girls held their heads high and faced their token jail sentences with a modocum of dignity. Paris needs to get a bracelet pondering what would za za do?

The average Joe would of gotten ZERO jail time as indicated by the county sheriff. A "hard but imperative lesson", let me guess you were a program parent?

I don't know what part of the country you reside in ... but in my home state there is a ZERO tolerance policy for drunk driving. Straight to jail. Do not pass go.
I can tell you from personal experience that judges enforce this law ... it is not one of those 'suggested' but not enforced type of laws.

Correct. And your point is what exactly? That I believe that when people drink and drive that they should be held accountable for their choices? Yup. That when people knowingly get behind the wheel and endanger the life of innocent people that there should be a very stiff penalty. Yup on that count too. I felt that way long before I 'became a program parent'.

I really have nothing to say about the whole Paris situation, other than that it would be nice to see CNN start running crucial, breaking global events again instead of a 4-way split screen of 3 people arguing about Paris Hilton and a 4th box showing a video loop of cameramen running after the cop car Paris is being taken away in.
-
It'll never happen; people are more interested in feeding the attention whore-ism.

I bet real estate is much cheaper there than LA too isn't it?

Whore-ism  could you define or simplify that for me?
Attention whore-ism....

What "program" was Paris Hilton in when she was a teenager? She didn't stay very long - a few days? Anyone know?

I think it was one of those Seadoo ones.

CEDU running springs campus. I think her stay was all of two months, then she went AWOL in a limo. According to hearsay anyway, which is often grossly inaccurate.

If she could put up with 2 months at CEDU I dont know why 45 days in a celebrity wing of jail is such a big bloddy deal. One makes for a fun party story the other brings on Post traumatic stress disorder!!!!!!
