I recently found out that one of my parents was a regular poster here and it left me somewhat creeped out. I was talking about them and my concerns and they found out about this and were pretending to be someone else. They asked me questions about them, how I felt about them, why I still am mad at them and questions like these. They pretended to be an anti-program researcher in order to do this with me. I asked them why they would do this to a grown adult and their answer was I would not have been honest otherwise.
What do you think, does this cross the line?? I think it's creepy that they would follow me around the internet like that. It was bad enough when it happened in the real world, it's like they just can't stop it or something.

Yes, they have crossed a line in my opinion.
Being a parent, I have had to make a conscious effort to respect my kids 'cyberselves'. I don't peruse their my space accounts, even though they are public domains.
I understand your parents desire to know ... but I certainly understand your desire for privacy.
