Anybody around here from Indiana? I answered a job fair ad and automatically got into orientation. Besides the corporate hiring seminar and the list of department manager ad libs these front line managers were getting us motivated, as a way to get us in the mood to upsell? No problem with that but then we all got into a circle to play these games that were VERY familiar... anybody heard of "pass the clap"? For real-

LGATs have been invading corporate America for a while. If a company I ever worked for ever had one, I would interrupt the thing and explain to everybody EXACTLY what was actually going on. Or I might simply refuse to attend their little cult and give them a very detailed response on precisely why.
Trust walks, lifeboat style games (sinking boat... need to pick somebody to throw off)...

I'm glad you answered. I was begining to think no one wanted to talk to me anymore. LGAT's? I think I have read that here. You understand. after somebody messed up the flow of claps they got "murphed"- I won't go into it. This is a major casino company. I knew what was up, but it felt so damn familiar. I'm not that scared kid anymore but another thing I realized is that I'm not capeable of being cruel like that-and I guess I'll not get in with that corporation.(need the job, but don't need to help them fleece the masses) u can bet someone else will though, Boo Hiss! To be honest the whole 3day seminar gave me a migrane. With all that $$$ it was like being in a minimum security prison all day. FLASHBACKS How would I explain?

I have lgat type bullshit posted around where I work..
Winners vs Losers... you know
Winner has a program, loser has an excuse? yeah.
 Its not TOO Bad, if it was, I'd grab a breaker bar and club someone in a temple. Seriously. :flame:
Its still fucking bullshit.

Work is bullshit. but I like to do it anyway-I'll have to retire soon enough if I make it. But you could really tell that the atmosphere around there had taken it's toll on the workers, I would describe it as a high energy work camp- like they walked the halls single file- hugging the wall and the smiles were sort of off the black hole sun video, well maybe i'm exagerating but I don't trust people who can talk and smile ALL the time.
I want to make money, increased sales, bread and butter you know, but the singling out of people to reinforce that group loyalty instinct just does not come naturally to me. I feel like it's wrong-anyone should. Really it is bad theory. I know why though and that's just not going to stop it. How would you protest it logically? It's a cooperate buyout situation and all the front-line managers are scared of all the head office managers and all the rest of us know is we got about 50 managers walking around watching everything we do. It simply does not work - I do believe in teamwork- always the best solution. what does LGAT stand for? Where is that Todd Rundgren looking guy when you need him?
