I knew what it was before I went to the link.  As a youngster who split home with a quickness, I moved right outside of D.C. and spent most of my time in Georgetown hitting Tower Records and Orpheus, and the head shop with the name I've forgotten...wait, it was Electromax.

I picked the Blade up by mistake from the pile of free weeklies, and being straight I kind of recoiled.  I went to the American Cafe and read it, though, and continued to get it because it had the best info on shows and the political views mirrored my own.  The Blade taught me tolerance, which later became acceptance of anyone's sexual preference.  I'm glad to see the Blade's still active.
