I agree with Audrey's food choices. I also like the buffet idea
because it gets people moving around and allows them to choose their own foods. Dinner Buffet 1 looks delicious.
In terms of alcohol, every time we've had dinner with consultants,
they all want very different wines, so it may make them happier if
they can choose their own from the bar. What do you all think about open bar for wine only... or wine and beer. I don't think it will
add too much cost and we wouldn't end up with half empty bottles left over if people didn't like the wine on the tables.

Good idea Christina, but we may just want to keep the wine on the tables and add one drink ticket per person. I don't think there will be much more choice at the bar for wine then there would be at the table.I believe they will only have a couple of whites and a couple of reds stocked in a banquet bar like that, not a full wine list. The few times we've done wine on the table for these types of dinners the consultants are fine with what is provided because they know it's free.(haha). Also if we do open bar for wine they will charge us by the bottle not the glass.so if only one person has a glass of chardonnay we buy the whole bottle.
Just some thoughts.

Sounds good Audrey. I agree with the idea that they'll like it cause its free ;) Either option is totally fine with us, and we're all getting excited about the tours! Thanks again for working so much on this!

Audrey - I agree with your choices; I also like the wines on the tables - I think the comments everyone made about the EC's liking it because it's "free" really hit home. I vote for the buffet; it does get people up and mingling.
Margie Lannon was here today from Summit and her suggestion was to have the speaker to the presentation prior to dinner; that way people can network during the meal instead.
Thanks to all for your hard work!

Hi All,
Are we providing transportation from the hotel to The Harvard Club, or is it walking distance? THC is the Main location not the downtown one, correct?
Thanks, Paul

Hey Paul et al...Will says it may be a comfortable walk for some, but other may prefer the transportation, so maybe we can have one of the drivers that is doing one of the tours stick around that evening to shuttle them to and from the Harvard Club...thoughts?? has anyone priced out transportation yet for their tour???

[Wouldn't want to waste the free buzz with a walk home. ]
Hi all, sorry I haven't been in the loop, just got back from vacation. I
agree that the buffet 1 looks good, and wine on the table is fine. Do we need to do drink tickets if we are only having a half hour for cocktails?
Especially since it looks like the cost will be pretty reasonable per
program. Just a thought, otherwise sounds great and the room looks very nice. We should probably let folks know that there is a dress code for this location, so that they can dress accordingly. The website defines the dress code as business casual, no denim, no athletic shoes. Thanks, Mod

Great thoughts, Mod...I'll make sure we put the dress code on the invite.
Regarding the cocktails...even though we are only having a half and hour for cocktails, they can still get drinks during the presentation...so really they have an hour and half. But I'm fine with no tickets...whatever the general consensus is will work for me...

[Wine with dinner's not enough? What, are the Ed Cons lushes?]
Hello all,
We are all looking forward to the events scheduled for the IECA Dinner. I am sorry that I wasn't in attendance in California, and feel like I am a little out of the loop. I greatly appreciate all your planning and help, if there is anything I can do to help please dont hesitate to ask.
Following the meeting out west it appears I have been appointed to set up the Pre-IECA tour for the state of Vermont. I called around this week in order to secure attendance from the various programs. It appears that we have the following commitments.
True North
King George School
Spring Lake Ranch
Bromley Brook (Tentatively,I am awaiting a response from larry)
I wanted to fill everyone in on what we are thinking for the tour. There has been expressed interest from 5 consultants already regarding attendance from this tour. We are hopeful that following the invites we will have approximately 10 in attendance.
Here is the proposed itinerary:
Sunday Afternoon:
Pick up attendees at the hotel and drive to Manchester, VT. They will have dinner and stay at the Equinox for the evening.
Monday Morning:
Breakfast at Bromley Brook School, followed by a late morning tour of Spring Lake Ranch.
Monday Afternoon:
Lunch on the bus, catered by Spring Lake Ranch. Followed by a tour of True North Wilderness Program.
Monday Evening:
Drive to Lyndonville Vermont, to have dinner and stay at the Wildflower Inn.
Tuesday Morning:
Breakfast at King George School followed by a tour.
Tuesday Late Morning:
Drive to Boston for a return to hotel, early afternoon. Followed by dinner at Harvard Club.
If you have comments or concerns please let me know. I would like to get the invites in the mail as soon as humanly possible. I hope you are all well.
Have a great weekend. I hope you all get out on the slopes.

Now Lon goes on to warn them:
Thought you would like to know. Seems the NATSAP discussion board is
wide open to everybody to watch the candid discussion planning an event.
...
The fornits reprint discussion can be found at ... [this page]
source (http://http://groups.google.com.tw/group/northeast-regional-marketing-group-natsap/browse_thread/thread/f4e9f3819487fa5e)
don't bother getting it removed lon. I archived it and will gladly re-post it if it dissappears.
BTW: Note to whoever posted the discussion ... next time, archive the stuff and wait until they are done before your post the stuff online(otherwise, some unscrupulous educational consultant might warn them that there is a fly on the wall)...

That is going to be a nice few days for you folks ?The Yankees are in town that weekend and Fenway park is a short walk from the Harvard Club (or a block from Hotel Commonwealth) if anyone wanted to get their a day or two early?. the Equinox up in Manchester Vt. is a nice resort, top notch golf course and they even still teach and offer ?Falconry? if anyone is interested in the sport. If you have never worked with raptors before it a great first experience. Guinness sold if off years ago, not sure who the current owners are?. also if you want to step up one of your meals ?The Black Swan? across the street is a nice experience and serves really fresh fish and a Duck Sausage that is an experience and historic Manchester village is a short walk on a nice day.

Man! Sounds like one of those "free vacation" time-share scams.
