New hope. New help. No secrets. Oxbow Academy offers all of that to families seeking treatment for children with sexual dependencies.

Oxbow Academy is a residential treatment center that focuses exclusively on teen boys struggling with sex-related behaviors. The facility opened in late January, 2007 and serves boys ranging in age from 13 to 17. The center is licensed for up to 24 boys.

Located in rural Wales, Utah, Oxbow combines intensive therapy with academic course work. It offers a boarding school setting that is focused on early intervention.

Oxbow's highly specialized environment is designed exclusively for teens with sexual dependency issues. Oxbow students are surrounded by peers who are struggling with similar problems. This provides a supportive, understanding culture.

Shawn Brooks, Executive Director of Oxbow Academy, says the program fills a unique niche. "Our experience with other programs has taught us early intervention is critical to successfully treating these boys. Yet it's almost impossible to find a program that treats teens. Oxbow focuses exclusively on sexual dependencies while offering a holistic therapeutic and educational approach."

Counselors, educators and staff create a unique environment that helps students disclose their behaviors, assume responsibility and begin healing. They are specifically trained to spot behaviors that may be overlooked or minimized in other therapeutic settings. State of the art security is combined with a home-like setting where students study, work and play.

Oxbow provides experiential, or "real time," therapy in the form of equine programs, outdoor activities and daily living tasks. In addition to experiential therapy and group therapy, students receive a minimum of seven hours of weekly counseling sessions. Parents and family members also participate in weekly therapy sessions with their child's counselor via telephone.

Along with therapeutic activities, Oxbow students complete an academic core curriculum that includes English, history, math and science.

Oxbow's management team brings more than two decades of experience helping troubled youth. Six of those years were spent specializing in the treatment of sexual misconduct. The school operates as a campus of Discovery Academy, noted for its excellence as a therapeutic boarding school. Oxbow is licensed by the State of Utah and meets or exceeds state therapeutic and academic requirements.

The Oxbow model is designed to bring boys and their families from fear and hiding to disclosure, treatment, and hope. For more information on Oxbow Academy visit our website at www.oxbowacademy.net (http://www.oxbowacademy.net).

What the fuck? Okay, I had an alcohol dependency for years, had to give it up.  I had a cigarette dependency for years, had to give it up.  Now I'm old, and I'll be damned if any academy of Christian assholes is going to take away my sexual dependency.  I'll hump until the End of Days, fish-people.

December 18, 2006

It was great to see everyone again in Florida. With Holidays fast approaching, we just wanted to send out a reminder that our Oxbow Academy program (A blending of best practices and philosophy form RCA, DA & DR to serve the sexually dependent and aggressive teen population) will be open this January 1st.

We have quietly been running a state funded program for sexually aggressive teen boys for the last six years. That program is called PineCreek Ranch. This is where we have been refining the therapeutic model and residential safety measures to be used at Oxbow. We currently have three private students in this program who will be transferring to Oxbow once the facility is open.

Each student will receive a full Psychosexual Evaluation performed by Dr. Chris Durham. Dr Durham is a forensic psychologist that RedCliff has had on staff the last several years. Chris will work with each student to ascertain the following: Cognitive functioning, level of emotional functioning, coping strategies as well as the history of possible abuse, sexual reactivity, level of interest and acting out behaviors.

Testing battery includes.....

The daily rate for Oxbow is $258.00 per day with the above listed testing as an upfront cost of $1,250.00. Parents will also be eligible to apply for student loans through Key Bank and PrepGate because education and academic services are provided through Discovery Academy.

We fully anticipate that some students will come to us from other programs. We currently have a student that attended Second Nature as well as Telos. As therapeutic efforts began to work, he disclosed a pretty serious event that happened prior to entering treatment. However, the student began to decompensate and soon became unmanageable in a standard RTC milieu. We have seen students such as this in our own treatment facilities. For this reason, Oxbow Academy was developed.

Please call 801-491-2270 with questions or learn more at www.oxbowacademy.net (http://www.oxbowacademy.net)
Any of us will be able to help you.

PINE CREEK RANCH ASCENT
Pine Creek Ranch is a high end residential estate nestled on ten acres 30 minutes South of Provo Utah, at the base of the Wasatch Mountains. Pine Creek Ranch offers the wide-open space of country living, and the benefits of a metropolitan area.

Learning from the experience of Discovery Academy, RedCliff Ascent and Discovery Ranch, Pine Creek Ranch is the first RTC in the industry to offer clinically intensive care for students demonstrating maladaptive sexual behaviors, with the foundation of the program being experiential therapy.

Students will be encouraged to complete a wilderness therapy program if appropriate, prior to admission. Students will be immersed in experiential therapeutic activities such as Equine Assisted Therapy, growing vegetables in a large garden, nursing day old calves by hand, side by side with their therapist?s and residential staff.

Following the example of Discovery Academy, where students score above the National Average on SAT and ACT scores, students at Pine Creek Ranch participate in a teacher driven, student paced school. This model is not to be confused with ?Independent Study? or ?Educational Packet? type courses offered in other therapeutic programs.

Pine Creek Ranch was established as a result of increased cases of teen sex addiction, teen porn addiction and the very serious need for teen sexual addiction treatment.

Take an assessment to see if your teen can benefit from our teen sexual addiction treatment program

NEW BEGINNINGS is a maternity home: a home for girls waiting to give birth to their babies.

An email has been sent to Ken Stettler, head of licensing of Utah asking him:

WHY would a girl who is pregant be referred by ANYONE from NEW BEGINNINGS to  Pine Creek Ranch Ascent---since this facility advertises that  it "offers clincally intensive care for students demonstrating maladaptive sexual behaviors."  What is MALADATIVE about becoming pregant?
