I was in the program in 1986-87. I have been a silent listener/reader for a while now. Alot of the names I read about are familiar to me; glad to see that alot of the "group" is doing well. Alot of the names I know have an RIP next to them; people that were my friends even after the program, which is tragic to me and I do blame Newton for that because God knows he fucked us all up. You were in the program at the same time I was- you want names, and yet you aren't willing to expose yourself. Hmmmm. I think most people became a part of this website to cope with the aftermath of being part of an incredibly insane lifestyle, not to just see who's out there for amusement. Until next time...

It's not for my "amusement as you put it..A lot of people have put up postings looking for people and haven't listed themselves. So chill out!

I was staff in '84 & '85.  Was Kevin Ottersten then; now I'm Kathy.

My sister was Lauren, was also there at the same time on her phases, and then was staff until '86.

So who are you?

To the person who accused another of righting for amusement...oh please. Let people post as they will, as you have done. Yes, you have the right to voice your objections to namelessness, but each poster has the right to remain so if they choose. Let's respect each other, not belittle. I think we've all had enough of that in lives already, wouldn't you say?

I was in Kids from 1985 to 1988. This is my first posting. Was quite amazed to find this thriving community of people who left the program. Quite a cathartic experience to read all of these postings...

We are an odd bunch, aren't we? When I was recently (attacked, slandered, jumped on, use whatever word you want) on the Straight board, I was stunned that many posts were against me, rather than for me. But just like you Kathy, many of my friends e-mailed and telephoned me privately, to let me know that they supported me. I suppose we are so used to being judged and being afraid of being judged, that this may color our public versus private support. So here, Kathy, I'll be the first of the bunch that contacted you privately to reply to you on the forum as well: I'm glad you are a survivor and I'm happy you are here with us! :smile:

Just thought I'd say hello. (Like Neil Diamond)

 I've not seen you on the board before, I was in 86-88. I'm not transgendered, but my ex was. More like a sexaul identity thing. I tryed to be supportive, but we weren't right for one another. I belong with a man. Although, that relationship was at a time when I thought I'd hate men forever. I got past that. Just hadn't found a good one yet, that's all. Besides my man's a Unicorn!
