Title: New Forum for Wilderness Therapy?
Post by: LauraLee on January 22, 2007, 12:21:43 PM
I don't know how others feel about this, but I think that Wilderness Therapy should have it's own forum here at Fornits.

But that's just me.

Thoughts, etc?

There is one on Brat Camp, which is wilderness. Perhaps the name of that forum could be changed to be more general and include all wilderness programs.

Why should each form of quackery get its own forum?

What about Peninsula Village, which bills itself as a long-term residential treatment center and therapeutic boarding school, but in reality it's a thinly disguised wilderness boot camp?  The kids leave the lockdown (if they're lucky) and move out to the cabins, where they shit in porta-toilets and chop wood, engage in forced exercise...the whole wilderness routine.  To quote a PV parent:  "Peninsula Village is not a boot camp.  'Nuff said there,"  They'll be anything you want!  They've got all the bases covered.  A PV therapist told us "Some of the girls even learn wood chopping skills!"  Like they have a choice, or it's a great honor.
