New School for Troubled Teen girls
A new school for girls 12-17 is now open in Kansas. The school is called Meadowlark Academy, it is unique in that it offers a Animal Assistance program while using a positive peer culture.
Troubled Teen Spiral Downward
Once a teen begins making negative choices they are often referred to as « making a downward spiral. » This is a difficult situation for both parents and teens. The difficulty lies in trying to interrupt this spiral and replace it with something that will help the troubled teen back to a healthier way of life. There are many dangers inherent while in the downward spiral. They include substance abuse, failure in school, legal troubles, pregnancy, addiction, and in some cases even death. Our goal is to assist families seeking help before their child gets too far down this negative path.
It is usually difficult to find help close to home as many states have made it impossible for parents to reprimand their children. The school districts in many states are teaching children to call Child Protective Service if they feel they are being abused. The problem is that almost every teen feels they are being abused at one time or another. We believe that a parent knows if their child is in trouble. There are many warning signs that your child may be headed toward the downward spiral. They include withdrawing from family and long-time friends, staying out past curfew, defying parents ? and teachers ? requests, coming home intoxicated or high, a drop in grades, and the list can go on and on. If you feel that your child may be making changes in the way they behave please give us a call and we will try to help you.

You know how decent law enforcement agencies instruct children from an early age to tell someone if they are being abused...and not to think they wont be beleived? Well we like to do the opposite-tell the kid no one will beleive her and create an environment where that terrible betrayal will actually occur
..
we like to get this whole "dont beleive your child when she tells you we molest/imprison/torture her out of the way up front. Why be subtle about our evil?
