My red celica got t-boned by a jeep, I screwed the insurance company and made them pay for every modification I had reciepts for, got WAAAY over book value on it and bought this pretty thing.
Hows the tibby doing?
-
Its suits you Andy
All homo-wanna have a race car, but cant afford it buy these. Just wait till you have to fix it. Besides the large hp,It has inadequate braking. The auto trans (if thats what you got) is another weak link.Have sold many. What you got is a old outdated car that Subaru thought would put them on the racecar map. Worked like a charm too... Havent made them sice 1993 ?
loser cars for loser dick suckers ::crybaby:: ::crybaby:: ::both:: ::both:: ::boycott::

SVX huh? looks sweet. I like the interior on the leather optioned ones. What year and mileage is that? They made those till at least '96. There is one in Yonkers on e-bay for a grand. Trannys do seem to be subarus weak spot. If yours is strong you should be in good shape. How does the awd work?
-
I also wanted to say that 2-tone treatment would look sick wit some black wheels w/ polished lips. Tibster is A-OK in semi hibernation.
-
She has 135k miles on the 3.3Litre Boxer-6.. about 40k on a rebuilt transmission (they really are a weak spot), but going to take that out when it dies and swap in a 5-speed from an WRX.
Haven't had to fix anything major, nothing I can't handle since the previous owner replaced EVERYTHING that could go wrong: Valve Cover Gaskets, Cam & Crank Seals, Axles, Rack & Pinion, Transmission Rebuild, Timing Belt, Water Pump, F&R pads & rotors, ABS sensors, the list goes on and on and on... 8-) His loss is my gain

Has the leather and suede interior with the wood trim on the console.
They were actually produced from 92-97, not as a racecar, but as a flagship car, a luxury GT, more in the class of a Lexus SC300 than a Nissan 300ZX or a Supra.

Looks like it's in great shape. How do you like the funky side windows? Is there a reason for that design?
-
Yeah, I'm loving the SVX - you either see complete beaters that you'll sink 5 grand into or mint condition beauties, I found one of the latter
I like the windows, one of my reasons for buying the car actually. They allow for a larger door opening, and makes the cabin seem really open and spacious. Also, you can drive in pouring rain with the windows down and not get wet. After a few months of driving you don't even notice them in your peripheral vision.
People at the bank window, drive-thru, and gas station always comment, albeit in a much more positive manner than the last anon standing on this sad little message board... :cry2:
