I am working with Sen Trudi Schmidt from Montana. She is trying to get a licensing bill passed and the opposition is spending over $40,000 lobbying and bringing parents and kids from all over the country to testify. Bob Friedman will go to present material, as will the director of a good residential program from Oregon. Allison is preparing a summary of the youth survey?of responses about Montana, of which there are many. She has no funds?do you know anyone nearby that can go to testify?
She is asking for letters from parents and kids about experiences in Montana. Can you help get some letters over the next 10 days? If you have them sent to me, I will organize them
This is an opportunity to really help our cause!

Hi. My daughter attended a program in Montana. But, when I try to access the website (via your link) I get a message that tells me that I'm denied entrance. Could you give me a quick rundown of what the bill is about?
Thanks.

Cool !!!
I found online that Behar is
Head, Child and Family Services
Branch
Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services
in NC.
Who was this letter sent to and what is her interest in Montana licensing? Is this request for only people in NC who have participated in a Montana program, or anyone? Any more details you can provide?

The link worked for me, but I didn't see any way to read the Bill. Please send your stories. The fiasco in Montana needs to be stopped. No program that houses teens 24/7 should be allowed to self regulate. If you don't know what's happening there, search wwf for "montana". A State Rep/Program Owner is heading the effort to avoid state licensing and regulations.
Here's a good link
