I think it is possible that the lord does not love me as much as i thought he did. i am no longer a high class roman catholic. i thought that the lord loved me and i put alot of money in the stock market and my portfolio went down the tubes. I will not be posting here anymore until i find a way to reclaim my fortune. maybe the lord loves fornits posters better. maybe i have to evaluate my past thinking. farewell for now fornits. BTW, Exhausted can you forgive my thinking towards you and put 5 bucks in my paypal account. i am saving up carfare to go for my job interview at a dairy queen. i no longer have my 3 luxury vans to drive in.
-
I put 10 bucks in, hope it helps
-
Who is Muldoon? Were you making a racial slur? Just curious.
-
Damn Muldoons...the whole lot of 'em. No Sir...I don't like 'em.
No slur against Michael Muldoon, who seems to be having fun with an ST persona BSarro. Damn, I knew that troll was too hilarious to be real.
-
You got it wrong BSarro, you have to pretend to be a REFORMED program parent to be accepted around here. Then they'll believe anything you say.
-
I wonder who wrote that?
Surely not someone from ST who is trying to cause a divide between the 2 boards when there is a big attempt to make peace?
-
Nope, it was a program vet who hates his parents and obviously has a prblem with transference, at least according to resident psychoanalyst TSW.
-
babies do not come with manuals, a good parent will do what they feel is the best thing they can do for their child, a bad parent will just let their kids do whatever and not really care less about the outcome
Parents do what they do because they believe it will help their kids, if it doesn't, don't blame them for making what they believe to be the right decision
-
I so wish that were true. :-?
-
To gay to be real.
Show me proof this is not real! Until you do, it's just as plausible that it is real. Right?
-
I could give you proof, but that would betray someone's anonymity. I know who BSarro is, and the intent of the persona's postings. Ever hear the term "devil's advocate"? Not to be taken seriously, like I don't take you seriously, guest. Merry Christmas, though.
-
Deep down parents must know that something ain't right about these places.
-
The words you're looking for are "willful blindness".
-
Mhm, exactically...
-
Ever hear of the word satiric?
-
Satirical, yes. What of it?
-
The BSarro troll was a satirical troll. Extremely satirical.
-
The words you're looking for are "willful blindness".
I can't agree Milk, some parents will send their kids anywhere just to get some peace & quiet ( even they can't be blamed when you think what they have to go through) but getting past that, I believe most parents send their kids away because they honestly believe they are doing the best thing for not only the child concerned but for the rest of the family too - I don't believe there are a lot of parents who'll send their child into a harmful situation with the full knowledge they are doing so
-
I don't believe there are a lot of parents who'll send their child into a harmful situation with the full knowledge they are doing so
I agree

I don't believe there are a lot of parents who'll send their child into a harmful situation with the full knowledge they are doing so
I agree
Does it make it any less worse to those it is inflicted upon?
-
No it doesn't make it any less worse, let's not trivilise it, any abuse is unnacceptable......but the fact still remains that it's rare for a parent to put their kids in danger or in an abusive situation knowing full well that's what they are doing, they are doing it because they truly believe their kids will get help
-
I agree this is true with some parents. But some programs, like WWASPS, are very parent involved. They come back to the facilities in groups every couple months and staff the seminars. They are required to attend seminars themselves. They might go into it with good intentions, but over time some of them are changed, significantly. They become zelouts who start trying to send other kids, who embrace the jargon and bullshit seminar "tools" and use it like a new religion. When one kid graduates after a couple years and they sucked all they can out of the experience they send their younger kid. Afterall, any kid could benefit from the program. (or so some of them say) I am not saying this is every parent. But it can be if they are not careful. It happens slowly, but after a certain point they become part of the cult and you can no longer reach them.

Like I said... it depends...

Ok that's a pretty chilling post .... can't someone set up an organisation to kidnap these kids back out of abusive programs, after all it seems so unregukated there I don't suppose anyone would take much notice of it all
-
Anon is right about the WWAPS parents and how a significant number of them could be described as "fully baked". Exhausted, you need to do some research on the effects of large group awareness training (LGAT). That's what these seminars are all about. The parents (legion of faithful) develop a near religious affectation for the omnipotent program. Rounding up new recruits is heavily encouraged, even rewarded with cash payments or tuition credits. What's a few thousand bucks out of the program's pocket to snag a $50k a year kid?

Most programs tend to donate big bucks to politicians and chum it up with social services. Its easy to discredit 'bad druggie kids' so nobody listens to them and if a few people turn the other way then the entire system basically breaks down.
As far as fly by night "liberation" (ah, something America is OH so good at...) it's happened before and it will happen again... I've heard all kinds of rumors about Samoa, but I don't put much stock in rumors.
Just watch what you say or you might end up getting interrogated just like a program kid for your terroristic acts there, exhausted

Guest, pardon me for being an ostrich on this one, i really don't want to know...i've just seen a film on TB and I now have to sleep after seeing that :(
-

Good fucking luck.
You want some nightmares with that?
-

The fetal position helps... so does a big pillow to squeeze on.
Welcome to fornits. it sucks some days but at least if we figure out how, we can see the end of this.
-
Too bad that Google Video took down the TB video. I wonder how many parents might have seen it, that sent their kids. It's hard to get on BitTorrent now because there aren't any seeders. Did they ever start selling it retail?

WWASPS SUPPOSEDLY has a injunction against its release.
I don't know what the hell Zadig is trying to do, maybe trying to just make thier money on it and go "LOL AMERICANS EAT THEIR YOUNG!!!" instead of genuinely try to help the kids, or if they're afraid of WWASPS doing something something to them.
Well, that or the whole Sue Scheff element to this documentary might be edited out  poor Sue.
-
What torrent sites are you using? I've got a copy of the TB film, I'd be glad to seed it. It needs to be seen, to hell with WWASP's injunction.
-
www.GOOGLE.com (http://www.GOOGLE.com)
You mean which TRACKER. Which site you get the torrent from doesn't matter.
Anyway I use mininova...
-
A few months ago I had no trouble getting it. Every time I've seeded it, I got no takers, which I thought was really odd.

Yeah, tracker, I wasn't thinking. Alright, then. Search on BTJunkie for it Wednesday night, late. I won't be home until then. If I put it on YouTube it has to go up in pieces, I guess. I could put the hidden camera segment of the girl being offered a chance to leave by her Aunt. That got to me in a bad way, I guess because of the father's "conditional love" thing and forcing her to stay. Struck kinda close to home when I first watched it.
-
Registering webspace on foreign webhosts is just as easy as it is here in America. Pick a whole lot of different countries, and paste this thing everywhere.
I haven't watched it, and I don't intend to...
-
It's bad, esp that big kid they sexually abused...
Very difficult to watch but parents should see this....
-
I don't find it difficult to watch at all.
You want to know what I find difficult to watch?
Parent testimonials. WWASPS informercials. Dr. Phil. Oprah.
The reason nobody will ever watch this awesome documentary is because it does what you aren't supposed to do - tells the truth. It ruffles feathers, makes people realize they are complicit in this if they don't work against it, so they choose to ignore it.
The more TRUTH the better.
This is one drop of reality in a pool of lies.
Goddamn it means something.

I've heard that same rumor also but am inclined to believe that if WWASPS is somehow involved, they ain't the only entity who might have an interest in this documentary. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I believe there is MUCH MORE to this than meets the eye.

Mormons? That whole bit about the mother saying the connection to the slogan and all that certainly caught my attention.. i was like HOLY SHIT someones finally putting the dots together here!

Bystanders resent the tortured because they make them feel guilty and ashamed for having done nothing to prevent the atrocity. The victims threaten their sense of security and their much-needed belief in predictability, justice, and rule of law. The victims, on their part, do not believe that it is possible to effectively communicate to "outsiders" what they have been through. The torture chambers are "another galaxy". This is how Auschwitz was described by the author K. Zetnik in his testimony in the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem in 1961.
Kenneth Pope in "Torture", a chapter he wrote for the "Encyclopedia of Women and Gender: Sex Similarities and Differences and the Impact of Society on Gender", quotes Harvard psychiatrist Judith Herman:
"It is very tempting to take the side of the perpetrator. All the perpetrator asks is that the bystander do nothing. He appeals to the universal desire to see, hear, and speak no evil. The victim, on the contrary, asks the bystander to share the burden of pain. The victim demands action, engagement, and remembering."
But, more often, continued attempts to repress fearful memories result in psychosomatic illnesses (conversion). The victim wishes to forget the torture, to avoid re-experiencing the often life threatening abuse and to shield his human environment from the horrors. In conjunction with the victim's pervasive distrust, this is frequently interpreted as hypervigilance, or even paranoia. It seems that the victims can't win. Torture is forever.

He committed suicide, I believe.
-
I saw news report that said he died, they never stated a cause but I too suspected suicide... I feel really bad for his mom I know she is kicking herself for sending him to TB.... Another example of the industry
-
Can't find anything on tranquility Bay apart from their own 'what we do' movie
Any clues anyone?

No - he didn't.
He died, June 6th 2006, but not by suicide.
His heart was failing, and it is believed that's what killed him.
The rumors about this Documentary's release keep flying.
I hard the same as everyone else, that it was WWASP/ Litchfield that had an injunction holding up the release in the USA. What I heard came through a grape vine - its not like the French told me or anything. Still, it is true Something has kept it from being released.
Another rumor I have heard - also through a grape vine - is that is is Mz Scheff her own self that is keeping it from being released.
You know there are two versions? The short version some have seen when Google had the link up. There is a long version - about half an hour longer. Much speculation has taken place about what is on the long version. I have heard that Sue is not pleased with this version and has threatened to file suit if it gets released. The producers just don't want the hassle, and so scrapped the release plans.
I have also heard the problem is the niece who was filmed incognito. That she would not sign a release.
I have no idea if any or all of this is true. But, so far, that the extent of the rumors I have heard.
-
Well somethings up, I went looking for "Help at any cost" in book stores and I can't find it anywhere. I even tried a different city but every store says that they would have to order it, strange or coincidence?
-
I "heard" that Sue Scheff threatened to sue if the 90 minute version of the TB Documentary was released, because this version tells about Ms. Scheff referring kids to these WWASP programs for money.
BUT, you know about "hearing things".....it could just be gossip.
-
I think Lee Colburn or Sue Scheff is writing about the French saying "Americans eat their young." This is something I remember Sue telling a bunch of us when the French began filming.
I think the French are going to sue Scheff and edit out her of the 90 minute version. That's the rumor I am spreading.
Where did you hear Sue Scheff threatened to sue? Cay you tell us? T
hat would be totally cool and I hope she does sue or get sued. They unlike poor Carey won't back off and Sue will be a dot of bad history. great sport to watch. Serve the witch just right IMO

Not likely with all the money they have in this film. My bet the longer version will be released and Sue will be sueing which will be super fun to watch.
-
The only version that seems to be torrented is 53:07 in length. I can't imagine why SS would object to this one, since it paints her in a pretty good light as "the mom who fought WWASP."
As for Help At Any Cost, why not just order it from Amazon? I got my copy in just a few days.
-
It's the 90 minute version of the TB Documentary that Sue Scheff is reportedly very displeased about.
-

I would suspect the book isn't stocked because the sales aren't high enough. It doesn't pay to let them sit on a shelf, so they keep it at the warehouse and ship it when ordered. It's not a mainstream topic.
But, I wondered why I could find O'Reilly's new book everywhere I went, but I dould not find a copy of An Inconvenient Truth, anywhere. Sales, or corporations / politics? You decide.
-
I had imagined that this book sold quite well in the US. It seems a great shame that this is the case.

BUT SHE FUCKING DID AND ITS COURT RECORD!
WHAT THE HELL? WE KNEW THIS SINCE WWASPS SUED HER FAT ASS!!!

ooh ooh. i saw one at a health food store in Mass.

Good luck making a big deal out of them saying that.
Why doesn't the bitch write about George Clinton who the French were obviously quoting. (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America_Eats_Its_Young)
Good album btw.

I could order it anywhere, I'm sure. But I was out on Christmas Eve and shopping with rednecks in rural Ohio. We were checking out stores like Walmart and K-Mart when my cell goes off and my ex says to buy Gore's book for my Sister and give it to her as a Christmas present from my ex.
I found the right wing lies and crap like O'Reilly's book for kids, but nothing 'liberal' on the shelves of these discount giants. I asked clerks, but they never heard of the book (seriously).
In reality, they probably don't stock them because they probably would not sell at these locations.
I ended up buying Jeff Foxworthy's dictionary. My Sis loved it. My ex rolled her eyes.

Scheff might have come off better if the film had been released upon completion. Now Sue's not "the mom who fought WWASP", but the coldhearted EdCon who sued Katrina-displaced single mom Carey Bock for 11 million, and Scheff waited until Bock was moving to Texas to serve court papers Bock wouldn't receive until after the court date. I can't imagine Carey Bock would blow off a defamation suit, especially considering the plaintiff. Scheff didn't give off warm and fuzzy vibes in the film. She seemed to be an opportunist with a myopic view of abusive facilities, singlemindedly dogging WWASP as if there were no other fucked-up programs. Watching the film with the benefit of hindsight, you can tell Sue was pushing the martyr role, thinking about her EdCon service. Parents would view her as possessing integrity and balls, at the same time managing to excoriate some WWASP ass. She could have a personal vendetta against Lichfield, maybe in the past he had refused to hire her. Ken Kay might have maced Scheff while working as an overzealous nightshift Rent-A-Pig? It seems Sue has no problems with abusive programs, she's made big cabbage reccomending hellholes that got busted for being fucking brutal..
Scheff threw her arm around Steve(?), the guy who spent five years in WWASPS, like it was a photo op, then quickly released him to deliver that spiel, something like "the kids have a voice again!" Steve(?) looked a little uncomfortable, he may have an aversion to people grabbing him. After the shit he went through, trust has to be an issue.
Sue, these are personal opinions, and you could consider these statements defamatory. Being a "limited public figure" created by your self-generated fame/infamy, you have the additional legal onus to prove remarks were made with "actual malice", meaning comments issued with a reckless disregard for truth. So don't sue me. It's like...my opinion, man. I have a question, though: How do you sleep? How do you drift into serene slumber, knowing the shit you do?
