This from ClassMates.com.   Just in case you do not read the announcement there.    Posted Mid-October 06.

I am so sad to pass on that Dan K has passed away as a result of tragic motorcycle accident. So, within 3 years, his 3 children ( NAMES SURPRESSED) have lost both parents ... Mare and now Dan. There has been an account set up for the kids through:

Wells Fargo Bank
Krmpotich Children

PLEASE pass on this information to anyone and everyone you know that has been touched by Mare and Dan. Please keep their children in your thoughts during this tragic time.

I knew Dan and Mare when they worked at CEDU in Running Springs.  I was a teacher there for a brief time.  I thought they were both really nice people.  I am very sorry to hear that Dan was killed in a motorcycle accident.  What happened to Mare?  I  last saw them about twenty  years ago.  Did not keep in touch but found this forum and was shocked to read about some people I used to know.  I also knew Dan Earle.  Do you know what happened to him.

I don't know what Earle is up to. Last I heard he fucked a student at RMA, Carmen divorced him, and he left.

what's wierd is that I talked to dan earle about his fling with him when i went to visit as a graduate. What happened after that is anyone's guess. Wasn't he doing some artistic projects up in Bonners for a while?

Yeah. and it's too bad about Dan K and Mare in the same short span. god, didn't they join CEDU at the very very beginning? I wonder how we can find more out about that time. Maybe stacy or dana, or tim or nina will spill the goods about the real foundations there?

I bet it was exciting at first...much different if the legendary tales they told us were true. Is it true that the CEDU house was Mel's house and that they only took in people by choice. Do you even think they dealt with kids under 18 at first? It was 1969 or so? I bet that was all horse shit, too sometimes.

I want further explanation about the real roots of CEDU. I bet there are people who visit this forum who KNEW mel wasserman. spill the beans!

I believe CEDU formed in 1967.

I doubt you will get anything reliable from Stacy. If ever there was a true blue CEDU-ite, it was her. I thought she was done with it when I graduated, because she left shortly afterwards, but apparently she came back to manage Ascent.

I think Nina or maybe Shannon would be willing to talk a little more objectively about it, since neither of them really seemed to enjoy the program.


You fucking talked with Dan about his "fling"? WTF did he have to say about that?

who was it with. i think it was a student who had graduated. she came back to work there.
about what we said. it's coming back. but reply hazy. i'll think on it or even look through an old journal.
