I am sure if you were enrolled anywhere from july 2005 til now you know who Lance is very well. He often liked to lead the fallout sessions where the whole school sat in the gym for hours until people talked.
I know Lance will read this somehow
He is the peergroup leader for pg's 79 and 80.
Lance often said, "I will not get into powerstruggles with my patients" and liked to let everywhere know he was in charge.
The funny thing is, almost every member of both his peer groups were withdrawn in one summer.Looks like ya lost buddy,HAHAHAH.
He often liked to toss the word "Lockdown" around when kids were getting into trouble. The 3 people he told he was "finding more restricted placements" for all went home. HAHA.
I guess your big ego and powertrips make you feel like a fucking idiot now lance. I guess you realized you don't have as much power as you think, or actually, none at all. and even though they give you guys a manuel on how to run each element, you still failed misserably. With all the intelligence and great education you contstently bragged about having, maybe you should find a real counseling job. Not one where your able to force kids under 18 to respect everything you say just because no one your age will.
Karma is a bitch. You probably realized that already though hahaha
pretty much, we won. Who was the power now "Lancy Prancy"?
-
lance = incompetent moron
-
Have you spoken to the attys for the class action suit? They would LOVE to hear how you were referred to as "patients" at a "academics only" boarding school and how you were threatened with (or maybe you were a victim of it) "lockdowns."
Drop a PM to DJ, RB, Deb or Juniper to get the details on how you can become part of the "class" suing HLA for fraud and improper care. Any one of them can help you get on the list and get your story heard.
Welcome and good luck.

Just curious, what peer group were you in? I had to deal with Lance and his bullshit for a nice period of time.

PG79 was my child's PG. Lance is pompous. When we questioned
the effectiveness of "fallout" he claimed it worked. He also liked
to "bait and punish"
Lance once admitted to us that one girl (in a different PG) remained at HLA even though she had made no progress at all.
Shameful. Her parents were lead to believe that she was progressing and she was allowed to graduate. Wonder what has become of her now that she has completed the program.
Money money money money.money......money.

This is due to HLA's "bonus structure." Counselors hang onto their pop sheets like grim death, regardless of treatment outcomes.
The young man who just died post-HLA (was kept 20 months at HLA despite no progress at all) was on the caseload of a counselor who has received "the bonus." Maybe she kept him locked up there all along just to get the cash? I mean, what's the incentive to get him real help by transferring him to a legitimate professional? NONE.
This place needs to be shuttered. There's no remediation that can rehabilitate this crooked, fraudulent business. It just needs to be closed down for good.

is this the same lance henson that is a native american poet?

Lance claims he worked at a prison as a counselor. Is that how he learned to deal with students?

Lance is the biggest egotistic fucking asshole alive. I think he now realizes that he isnt as important as he thinks since almost all of his peer group members were withdrawn because of him. He threatened me more times than anyone i know. I had to start a thread about him because he made my life hell for so long
fuck you lance, i wont bitch.

I remember his famous "fallouts. One lasted for over 8 hours. That fallout was because of something that happened in dorm A - none of the kids in my dorm (dorm B) were involved but he made us all sit in the gym for the entire day. We were allowed to break for a "silent" lunch and then back to sitting there until someone admitted something. So tell me how I benefited from his version of therapy?
-
Its obvious you needed that type of therapy. You're obviously trying to manipulate the situation and without those fallouts you'd be dead or in jail. Just in case you do die, have your parents set up a life insurance policy with hla as the sole beneficiary. We do this so that others might benefit from the same level of therapy that you recieved. I know you'll agree and if you dont then we'll gladly send you to RC for a year.

Sounds more like lock-down in Oz than therapy.

Lance was my counselor while I was at HLA for a while. He has a very pompous attitude and often responds to criticism from students by trying to make them feel stupid for even voicing the complaint in the first place. At least twice a week, our therapy sessions became (within the first five minutes) sessions of voicing complaints about unfair treatment from the school. Often, I was the person who was the most vocal about things that I disagreed with, and I was sent to Ridge Creek because I was "not progressing therapeutically". Lance told me that I was holding the group back because, after I had been complaining about the policies and poor treatment for a while, the group was beginning to take my side completely. Before I started my campaign to get other kids to wake up and see how ridiculous the school is, they had been convinced (by Lance) that the school was helping them tremendously. Anyway, I can't possibly express my disdain for Lance and his apparently uncontrollable need to manipulate troubled kids in a Fornits post. However, I do need to close this post with a little bit of gloating. Lance, if you are reading this, you were wrong. You told me the day before I left that I was still the "old Ed" and that I had not changed and that I would fail outside of HLA. Well guess what? I am at a respected prep school as a senior, making a 3.7 GPA and staying off drugs and out of trouble, no thanks to you. Maybe you should reconsider your pathetic and corrupt career.
-
So where is the man of the hour?
Come on buddy.....come on out. Be a man about it answer the charges made. Are they true? Or are you just to pompus to answer them? Maybe we're hurting his feelings....maybe he truly cares about these kids and while he's not perfect he does try and help them. Maybe if we stopped being so angry we would see that they really did care and they really did help us. Or maybe they are all nothing more than a bunch of sadistic child abusers. On the off chance that we have hurt his feelings I'm sure ol Chuckie will rub his back and shoulders and whisper into his ear something about blessed are those who are persecuted.
In the mean time step up to the plate. Be a man and justify your hack brand of therapy. How has any of what youve done on here been helpful?

This is the same exact thing he did to my son! He treated parents the same way - always tried to make us feel stupid for asking questions and talked down to us. Nice to see people speaking out.

He sure sounds like a winner.
So come on champ-tell us about how wrong all these people are.
We know your owner reads this obsessivly, maybe he can pass along the message.

i'd send this link to the lawyers. it clearly states that HLA
provides excellence in "therapy." they have been telling regulatory bodies that they provide "no therapy" and that HLA is "academics only." just another fraud. just another lie.

which lawyers would those be? I'm on it if you can give me the info

Dunno if you are gonna read this, but congrats on doing so well and stuff like that. Because of all of the HLA pplz scouting this website I can't post who I am, even though you know me, but I hope everything is going well for you and your family. Once thing I never caught at HLA, were you planning on going into a music major? Cause you are damn good at playing the mandolin and it would be a shame for all of that to go to waste.

I was referring to the post above whose poster said the link should be sent to "the lawyers". If there are lawyers out there working on cases against HLA and if HLA has said (especially under oath) they don't do therapy but it states in their advertising (and begging for donations, including life insurance), that they do therapy then that should be forwarded on. I just don't who it should be forwarded on to.
-
True. The information is available on this website. Otherwise you can pick a username and PM me to ask.
-
Lance is a pussy, and he fucking powertrips! Special Reals can suck it.
I can't believe I just said that. Oh, well...

I am planning to go to college and probably study business or liberal arts or something that will give me a good foundation, and minor in music. I was going to major in music, but the problem is that it can be difficult to find a career with that degree. Anyway, I wish there was some way I could find out who you are; I have definitely found some other people. Are you someone who is still there? If so, I hope you get out soon, and I hope you remember not to take any of HLA's rhetoric seriously. It (the rhetoric) is just there so they can have some sort of mask to hide the money machine. I hope I don't sound like a conspiracy theorist or anything (George?), because I am just telling the truth. Trust me, I was there.

I have to say I hated being told by him what I was doing wrong, BUT he Lance was right And the simple fact is that I learned alot :cry2: about myself>>>now I know some of you writting in and I think it is time to grow up!! Posing as a kid now? And "bereal," too. How is that teaching Honesty and Values, Lance?? Explain.

I didnt put myself at hla, I did learn one or two things though youre right. Mostly how some adults will do anything for a buck, how some were so tormented during their own childhood they seek out any means to exact revenge upon other children. What kinds of people hell was made for......
I learned alot.

lance is a huge douche... anyone else who was in my peergroup feel free do say hey please. i havent seen some of you in a long ass time.
-chris jordan
-
I was in lances peer group from the very beginning, so I know all about whats up. Now im not just going to sit here and bitch about lance but I will voice my word. I was in PG 80 (what up everybody) and I had numerous experiences with that man. He was a very straight up kind of guy but at the same time comes off as a schmuck. I remember all the unecessasary bull shit he put through.... All the threats, all the put downs.... The only thing he really taught me was to be prepared for ass holes in life. I do believe he is book smart and actually kind of street smart, but he is in no way thereupeutic material. This man has sent me to Ridge Creek for the biggest BULLSHIT reasons, which I will not go into detail.
Lance and melanie were both my counselors, and when I left out of HLA, there were very few people left in PG 80, because all of his "paitents" were withdrawn because of him. I just remember they used to always flirt during reels and elementals; before the got married, I used to always quietly point out there 'intimant' moments.
Melanie was actually a very good counselor when she first started at HLA. My peer group was Melanie's first and Lance's second. But after some time of associating with Lance, I noticed a sharp decrease of interest in Melanie. It only got worse, so I guess what I'm saying is that it's a shame for Melanie to change into another lance.
-
and it is a shame that they allow a married couple still be co counselors...it really screws things up for the kids in an already screwed up situation...they have NO one to go to since they are basically clone a holes of eachother...
if i were a parent with a kid there that would be a definate point of contention to me!!!!!!!
:flame:
-
Many of the counselors are good up until the time that they pick up their second peer group. At that point they are so overworked and spread thin that it is almost impossible to be an effective counselor any longer. It is really unreal the ammount of work the counselors are expected to do compared to the ammount of time they are given to do it. They are set up to fail and the kids are the ones who suffer for it.
