yes chris virag has changed, and i was the biggest cock while i went to elan but now( see back then i couldnt admit to that) I have a full ride to northeastern. I could care less about what people say about me and Im no longer obsessed with star wars ( boy was i a fuckin nerd picture a chris virag a bit taller 30 lbs heavier and alot more jacked I also am rich because the father I never met got hit by a train and had no other kids so I collected something in the 6 figure range. The main purpose of this site is not to argue and expose each other's weaknesses, it is in fact to share our points of view about our experience in Elan and maybe get in touch with our old peers. I don't know about you guys, but I'm curious to find out what have happened to the people from 7 (97-99). I don't understand this hostility toward Kate Birney, she was one of the most sensitive and beautiful people I met in Elan. Anyone heard from her?

Hi Chris, I just got back from a trip so I couldn't reply to you sooner. I'm glad you're doing well. I'm in Rio now, so I haven't seen any of the Elan grads in a long time, but after my graduation I got to meet Tatiana, Matt Erwin and Amanda Moore. When I was in the States, I used to talk to people by the phone, sometimes e-mail people every now and then, but I guess I haven't been so consistent with writing. My bad! I'm sorry to hear about Justin A, he was a very funny dude! How about you?

I will definitely email you. I dont want to communicate with friends on this forum because of the racist and degrading things other people are saying to eachother on this website. If we all have one thing in common(elan) ,why are others hating eachother? we should be friendly and turn this site into something it should be. A way to reunite with old peers and friends. We all went to this school and spent alot of time together. That shouldn't be bashed upon but a way to make lifelong friends. Dont you agree?

Kate Birney rocks! She's one of the most insightful and sweetest people I got to meet at Elan. It's really very hard to believe that a person would speak so badly of her for a reason other than pure jealousy.

Hey, this is Gino Hemrick from Elan 7. Every now and then I do a Google and Dogpile search to see if my name pops up so I found this site (I have no idea how everyone else did).
Anyways, a couple things. I thought Kate Birney, as well as most of Elan 7, were cool and I find it hard to believe that she has HIV or whatever people are posting on here but I don't know. Also, whoever posted all the nasty stuff that people did to get into Elan is pretty lame.
That being said, I have about 2 1/2 months left before I graduate from Illinois State University. I'm going to start checking these posts relatively frequently so if anyone wants me to contact them, post your E mail address or AIM in a response to this and I'll see what you're all up to. I have recent pics so you'll know it's me and not someone else.

In fact I happen to still be in touch with a few after 8 years, but you come across like you are on a high horse. I know its tough to read into text, but man, come on, this is a forum for people to vent. You have to respect that right of others, no matter what you think.

yeah.. i was student in 7 from 98-00... and i'll be compeltey honest, that the only reason i stayed after 6 months was because i was court ordered, but, after a while, i stayed because i realized i was becoming a different person... and then i staffed from 02-04... i left because i had my own differences in elan... like i said in previous posts, i didn't agree with everything, and seeing things from a staff perspective is why i left... but the concept, and the staff i worked with were always good people to me.. i dont' know some of the staff mentioned here, as they probably were the 70-early 90... and i can't answer for them, nor do i want to speculate on what happened before... and yes, seriously, 20,000 a year... so, i definately wasn't in it for the money, considering, i was making triple that at my previous job...

I wouldn't anwer your message without taking some time to reflect about how to put this in a reasonable manner.
Ideas and feelings don't go in dichotomy. You're not more entitled to criticize Elan as a re-entry or a staff member than the kid that sat in the corner for half his/her stay. Some of those corner kids that never made it to their graduation are doing very well, thank you... while some "did-well-in-Elan" graduates unfortunately got into some deep trouble. It's really not up to us to judge any of these people. We've all made our mistakes. We'll keep making them.
Life's so much bigger than Elan.
