Title: What is the schedule like for Tranquility Bay students?
Post by: Anonymous on October 05, 2006, 05:17:19 PM: I would like to know if anyone here can provide insight into the schedule at Tranquility Bay. If so, can anyone tell me the differences between school days and non- school days? When are they allowed time for leisure? Like play video games, surf the web, go outside to grab a bite to eat?

Mon - Fri 7 AM wake up call
8 AM breakfast buffet - hot and cold
9 - 11:30 classes
11:30 - 1PM lunch, relaxation
1 - 3 PM group activities - talk sessions, team-building games
3 - 3:30 snack break
3:30 - 5 individ. counselling or study time
5 - 6 cocktail hour
6 - 7:30 dinner service
7:30 - 10:30 free time - computers, reading, games, talk
10:30 - 11 PM prepare for bed/sleep
11 PM lights out

Sat/Sun 8 AM wake up
9 AM breakfast buffet
10AM - 5PM free time - snack buffet available to 3PM
5PM prepare for dinner (wash, dress in clean clothes etc)
6 - 7 PM cocktails
7 - 9 PM dinner service
9 - 10:30 free time - computers, reading, games, talk
10:30 - 11 PM prepare for bed/sleep
11 PM lights out

Post by: Anonymous on October 11, 2006, 06:32:06 PM: I don't know how serious of an initial question it is, but there's no "freetime". You're under 24hr supervision. No tv (except ed video, emotional video and movies(sunday only)). School is 6 hours a day, 6 days a week. You're in a class with 6th-12th grade students working individually on different subjects. Some thrived in it. I went from a year behind my class at home to finishing a semester and a half ahead of them with a 3.46 GPA. Wash days include getting a bucket, some soap and scrubbing by hand, hanging up to dry. Showers are taken in individual stalls outdoors. PE is an hour a day (soccer, tennis, basketball, volleyball). On some days they took level 3+ down to the beach. Meals are portioned out. Contact with the opposite sex is prohibited. Walk in lines, ask permission to stand up, sitdown, talk, use the bathroom, etc. It's very strict and the rules don't bend. I haven't been there since 2000, but it probably hasn't changed too much.

His parents are still alive because this young man isn't as sick, and in need of help, as his parents thought. It takes a stronger person to forgive, then a weak person who seeks revenge.

I hope that one day (if it already hasn't happened) that his parents apologize for what they did. No kid deserves to be thrown into a place like that. As far as I am concerned, it's usually the parents fault for how they raised their own children.
