These graduates that Cruz claims is so much better than those that did not graduate.
I know of 3 girls that turned into nasty junkies. Less than 2 years after graduation.
1 kid got caught doing a carjacking and was hooked on heroin and ended up od'ing all in his first 3 years after graduation.
1 kid got hooked on coke and ended up in prison after robboing antiques stores. Again about 1 year after graduation.
Just because you did or did not graduate does not make you better than anyone else.

I do not think that biting people and spending time in the corner is cool. It is a shame really. In between my fuck ups I also went on some cool trips and made some cool friends.
I did not care enough to be a graduate. No matter what I knew I was going back to my dad's house regardless of the outcome.
Actually the state did recruit my family. They were lied to as was I.
I being so young did not know my rights until after I left Elan and found out. To late then huh?
I left Elan a little bitter at 17. I was depressed. I had a hard time being around alot of people again after being isolated for so long.
I went to my first year in a public school and since I was a senior my last.
I had a blast! I made friends, joined the photography club, got a car, traveled, ect...
I know that when you graduate Elan they help you with re-adjusting back into society. Like you in re entery. You dated, socialized, ect.
Well, people who were not doing as good as you were kept in Elan's little house untill they went home. OK yeah its their fault for not going up in the dichotomy blah, blah..But when it comes to dealing with kids of all types they should make an after care plan for everybody not just graduates.
It is not like adults 18+ that check themselves into a rehab and leave knowing full well the consequences of their actions.
Kids under 18 graduate or not need better treatment when they are ready to leave.
I asked for nearly 2 months before I left to have my money account closed and ready to roll on my discharge day. 2 months!
To this day I never got that money. It was over 200$. No chump change at 17.
Elan does fail kids. When its obvious a kid is not right for their program they need to do the right thing and make an alternative plan. Maybe a intensive psych hospital is more the kids speed.
Give that kid a shot atleast. Not every program is suitable for every kid.

But instead they put the kid in the corner or make them wear a humiliating sign or encourage others to shout swears at them. 2 inches from their faces.
People like Pink leave Elan fuck ups because Elan failed them. Pink clearly needed a psych hospital setting. Psych meds. Not Elan's form of therapy.
Elan is not appropiate for every type of child!
If you do not graduate Elan literally dumps you out the door with nada. They make shure your getting a ride to wherever then thats the end of their involvement.
I could not get my transcripts to bring home with me nothing.
It took 3 weeks to get those. My school said why were you not given these upon discharge from Elan?
Greg, you did ok by their standards but not everyone is you or me or whoever. What works for one is not right for the next.

Who I am to you is not to concern you. I was not in 3. But I spent time in 3. My initials are MT. I did very well in Elan. I did not step on the little people to do it though. Nor do I come here and put people down who did not do well in Elan. I know ALL about Elan and the nastiness that went down there. Especially in 7. I did alot of sp's there. Their gm's were absolutely horrendous. I would cry myself to sleep quietly because the place was fucked up.
