Post by: 85 Day Jerk on July 11, 2006, 02:07:00 PM: Someone has managed to bump a persons browser over to Fark.com and that is pretty freaky. This forum has gotten pretty stupid lately, but also in a way quite a few of us have reached closure of what our experience in Straight did to us as individuals. I got alot of help just from having a place to get the stuff out. It was a blessing to have a safe place to write about the incredible experience of being a part of a gov't approved brainwashing and behavior modification experiment. You just can't tell people in everyday society what it was like. They can't fathom it. I just want to say that I am grateful for all that this board has done for us over the last four years and before that even. It is a damn shame that it is such a litter filled vacant lot full of bullshit now. I feel confidant that it will change back sooner or later. For now I can only be patient and let the crap run it's course.

Starry, just go up top and "log in to check messages"..if you7 are trying to just enter your name and password on the post box it wont work , just told me nailbomb was taken. But yah that should fix ya up.

anyways, i have had my closure with straight....i still have those crazy dreams about group and certain host homes from time to time, but that's about it.....to hang on to the negative aspects of my not-so-normal life would be kind of useless....i like to think my life is a good one, and i can honestly say that i am a happy person...i just don't require alot to be happy i guess...

i am glad the board is here, because i bet that someone new stumbles across here everyday, and the word can get around about straight and ALL of the other abusive treatment programs that exist...

Post by: 85 Day Jerk on July 27, 2006, 05:48:25 PM: I am glad that things are returning to normal. For a long time I just put most of my thoughts into my personal journal at home because I figured it would be a waste of time to do it here.

I am going through a period of deep reflection right now. I have a neice in Tennessee that is getting married. A lot of my family has moved up that way already. I am really considering moving up that way. I think that anywhere near the Tenn/Georgia border would be ideal. Even though that is not the exact center of the country, it is close enough for me and besides, I get 31mpg with my pickup anyway.

The area down here is so fucked up. It is like the cities are all trying to "re-invent" themselves again like they did in the '80's.

It is all so damn stupid. What is really happening is that the cool, working class people that have a values system and make the best neighbors are being squeezed out to make room for the soul-less moneygrubbing yuppie scumbags that never stay in one place for more than five years anyway. Elegant old buildings are being razed in the downtown St. Pete area to make way for condominiums that no one will be living in six years from now.

The main thing that makes me want to move is just the plain old day to day shitty way that people treat each other down here. It is now common practice to see an accident and watch the car that got the least damage simply drive away. It is fucked up, and I am sick of having to live with it. There are simply too damn many people crammed onto too little land. I'll miss the beaches, the weather, the endless entertainment choices, etc, but in reality, quite a bit of the mid-west Florida that I miss simply is not there anymore.
