Most of the boys live out of state, and Child Protective Services spent the weekend returning the children to their parents, Meisner said.

I wonder what it feels like, to ship your kid off to some hellhole, and have annoyed CPS workers handing him back?

Think the French could be convinced to do a documentary on Whitmore Academy?

Sue Scheff sure wouldn't be the HERO MOM in this documentary, since she referred most if not all the children to this abusive facility. And Cheryl Sudweeks's criminal trial for child abuse is scheduled for September. Perhaps, Sue Scheff might be a star attaction at this trial, too.

But, it would be interesting to document how the Sudweeks went from about 45 kids in November 2004--when the abuse allegations firt came to public attention--- down to about the current count of a reported 4 "students."
At approximately $4,700 a month per kid--the Sudweeks saw their $2.5 MILLION per year disappear fast amid the child abuse allegations/CHARGES.
Their beloved Whitmore MANSION was put on the block for sale, too.
Sue Scheff's PURE referrals, reported to be 10%; or in excess of $200,000 dried up too--so this "cash cow" went BYE BYE, too.
The French might have a field day doing a documentary on the Whit; covering the criminal an civil trials.
CAICA could posts all the reviews, TOO!

This program is still operating?  Even with 4 kids, that's a chunk of change.

Where is the program operating and what kind of program is it that charges these kind of fees (@$150.00 a day)?  With 4 kids, that comes to about $20k a month.

Skyline Journey operated almost a year after a kid died in their program of dehydration.  It was only until a Utah administrative judge made her ruling that the program shut down, only to reopen later under a different name.  Same owners.

The laws in Utah (and elsewhere) are fucked up.

Does this make any sense at all????

Wow, read this guy's story:

Introduction

Hello! My name is Sean. I stumbled upon this site through Google because I wanted to share my personal experience being in a residential treatment facility and experiences with a psychologist who specializes in behavior modification.

A little about myself. Today, I am 35 years old, currently on permanent disability, who now has been properly diagnosed with PTSD and major depression. Had I been properly diagnosed long ago, there would be no need for this message today.

How it all started:

When I was 3 years old, I was adopted by my grandparents because my mom was not currently working and she was in the process of a divorce with my biological father. As I got older, on the block where I lived, there was no kids who lived on that block, let alone the same street I was on. So basically, all of my life, I was around older people, and could not relate to kids my own age.

When I was sent away:

In 1980, I was 9 and in the fourth grade at the time. The committee at my home school voted unanimously to send me to a residential treatment center called the Hannah Neil Center for Children. Ironically my fourth grade teacher was one of those who was active on the committee at that time ...

Very powerful shit, sounds like the Straight and The Seed, same kind of "re-education" bullshit.

I have been through this with this guy and he obviously confabulating. Read the whole thread. School systems do not operate the way he claims they do. His story impugns the credability of the legitimate victims.

Thanks Deb, from your link:

http://today.reuters.com/news/newsArtic ... type=dom.. (http://today.reuters.com/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=dom..).

TIJUANA, Mexico (Reuters) - Mexico has closed a boot camp for troubled U.S. teenagers south of this city on the California border and deported 13 youngsters whom workers are suspected of abusing, health authorities said on Tuesday.

The U-Turn For Christ Youth Ranch, a group home for the treatment of adolescent alcohol and drug addiction near the Pacific-coast resort of Ensenada, was closed last Friday after inspectors said they had found a range of violations at the center.

Juan Carlos Mariscal, a spokesman for Baja California state health authorities, said youths attending the camp showed "signs of physical and mental mistreatment" as well as insect bites that had not received adequate medical attention.

Well duh, it's legal for parents to abuse the rights of their own kids in America.  It's called parenting.

Actually, Mexico took it's sweet time.  Casa By The Sea was open for years.  Genisis by the Sea was too.
