Yeah, first the amusement park, and now the water park. I've got a subscription.
It was pretty typical as Tuesdays go. Girls walking around in bikinis, the eternal circular river going round and round, waterslides all open. I went on 'em all. Usually do every time I go there.
When I was leaving, there was half a dozen kids clustered around one of the lottery tokens-for-tickets machines. Apparently the anti-tilt had failed, and they shook it, and were looking at me to shake it when I approached them.
I didn't shake it.
I POURED it. Overloaded the machine so badly that the NEXT token put in unleashed ANOTHER flood of tickets.
How's that for setting a bad example?
Of course, the shit they could have possibly traded the tickets for (of course I wasn't going to keep them, not even the tickets I won on my own games- I always give 'em away) wasn't anywhere near the money those kids spend at that place, so I consider it fair.
And I know- know for a fact- that if their parents were there (they weren't- the place is as safe as the inside of a police station), some of them could be tricked by the right manipulative programmie into thinking that that was the beginning of deceitful and defiant behavior on the kids' part. However, I did see one woman with a five or six year old. She looked haggard, inattentive, and uncaring. She went through the motions, knowing that raising her kid was something she has to do, but she's not relishing the experience.
It was then I realized: This is a program parent. In ten years the kid will be heavily disaffected and she'll be easy pickings for the likes of Lon woodbury. And she'll never know what she did wrong...
Sometimes I wish some escort was dumb enough to try to grab a kid from there.. with me there as well. That funeral will be so closed-casket they'll have to seal the lid with Gorilla Glue just to stop anyone from seeing the twisted mess left behind. Rest in pieces.

First of all, he wasnt actively teaching the children to steal; he just gave them a helping hand. Or did you miss the admission of "setting a bad example"?
There is a difference between 'setting a bad example' and actively teaching something. There is an even bigger difference between 'setting a bad example' by tipping a vending machine and giving the kids a few tokens and kidnapping, beating and abusing children.

My professor announced that the vending machine outside had broken and if we wanted free drinks we should get them before the kids took them all. Outside there were kids in costume, their moms, and dance instructors etc milling about. The kids were excited at the bonanza. Some asked students to hit the higher buttons that they could not reach... That?s a pretty fair sampling of society don't you think? Suburban moms, dance instructors, students, professors, maintenance people, techs. No one contacted the authorities or attempted to halt the event. Nor was anyone beaten in the parking lot.
Believe it or not, there is even a website called 'Broken' which addresses the 'terrible crime' of robbing vending machines.

It's gotten to the point now where a dude found my then 14yo daughter limping along, trying to control a big strong shepherd/lab on a leash. She had thrown out her knee on her paper route and had at least 5 blocks to go to meet up w/ me and her li'll sis. This kind hearted old dude walked the dog and let the kid lean on his arm for support so she could limp her way along. He had a car, but was afraid of what people might think if he offered her a ride. WTF is this world coming to?

Went down there again, did the water slide business like usual, got waved at by the kids who I poured the machine for yesterday. Blew ten bucks (like I care!) on various games, got 0wned trying to do the slide bowling with the orange puck. (You'll know it when you see it.)
Most- practically all, actually- of the kids were happy and in groups. Gave my tickets away as usual. One kid in particular was surprised out of his shit when I handed him a strip of about fifty. What the hell am I going to spend those things on? I'm an adult- I get to just buy the shit I want.
However, I did see one woman with a five or six year old. She looked haggard, inattentive, and uncaring. She went through the motions, knowing that raising her kid was something she has to do, but she's not relishing the experience.
It was then I realized: This is a program parent. In ten years the kid will be heavily disaffected and she'll be easy pickings for the likes of Lon woodbury. And she'll never know what she did wrong...
Sometimes I wish some escort was dumb enough to try to grab a kid from there.. with me there as well. That funeral will be so closed-casket they'll have to seal the lid with Gorilla Glue just to stop anyone from seeing the twisted mess left behind. Rest in pieces.

I also stated that when I mentioned this to a friend in Belgium he described the same thing going on there--media blitz/news blackout themed on the Molestor of Charleroi (or some such) followed by a surge in reports (though probably not a surge in incidents) of suspected child molestation and, over about 5 years or so, a noticeable chill in the way adults in his area treat children very similar to what I described to him.
