Title: I have a question for Buzzkill's son.
Post by: Anonymous on June 02, 2006, 07:09:00 PM
Nathan, do you feel that your relationship has improved because of any of the programs you went to or has it been the same or gotten worse?

Anon,

Ask your sonS the same question?

WOW: seems like "somebody" is surely worried about Buzzkill here lately, doesn't it?
What's the problem lurking about?
Now you are stooping to picking on her son?
My my my.
"Somebody" seems very nervous about "something"

My mother is dead. So she isn't worried about anything.
Why are you so worried about Buzzkill that you bother to pick on her son?
That's rather shitty.

And I am not a "nigger," either.
You seem to have no respect for motherhood, or anyone's race.
What the hell is YOUR problem?
If you have a direct question for Buzzkill, why don't you send her a PM, and leave her son out of the equation?
That's what I would do, if I had a question to ask her.

For sure Buzzkill won't bother with you.
She's a neat, lady.
So, you have a nice evening, Mr. Wonderful.

Well I wasn't going to comment - in the hope this thing would slide on down the list and disappear quickly off the front page. But, as TSW has brought it back to the top - I might as well.

Really - Ginger - Surely you can see how this kind of thing diminishes the value and integrity your forum?

Someone seems to think it was Carey who began this (speaking of her sonS) If so, Carey (or who ever you are) he has a user name, so you can PM him. And if you asked nicely, he might reply. But of corse that would mean youd have to acknowledge who you are - but, if you won't do that much - why should *anyone* respond to such a personal question? Hiding under a bag as you are - your motivation is questionable. What do you *really* want to know, and why do you want to know it?

And the perverted wakko going on about his man hood - I wish you would show some self control, restrain your obsessive wakking. Can't you get off some other way? Aren't there web sites devoted to this kind of dialog? Or is it your turn on to shock - like some pitiful exhibitionist?

I mean, this is a bit embarrassing for me  - my son does read fornits on occasion; and a thread such as this is bound to draw his attention. Its very embarrassing to me to think he'll be seeing these remarks about his Mom. But I suppose that was your point. Its very sick and sad, you know. You really should seek help. Its not healthy to be So Very obsessed with your "little man". And you might want to ask your doctor - but I wouldn't think you should be squeezing him so hard he turns purple. You might burst his blood vessels and he may cease to function - but then again - that might not be such a bad thing. Maybe then you could think about something else once in awhile.

Now - if you have a scrap of decency - I ask you to please write Ginger and request she remove your remarks.

Its not as scary as if you were talking about my red silk panties - but it is offensive, nonetheless.

People are trolling to make you have a reaction and you're giving them one. Id think having been on the internet this long youd know how to react to someone acting like a 5 year old over the keyboard.

Act your age and stop taking it personally from anonymous trolling. Fornits is uncensored and its a badge of honor, but the downfall of that is it requires more out of its posters than it does in moderated forums.

IM ALSO REALLY THE GEORGE ZIMMER, CEO AND CHAIRMAN OF MENS WAREHOUSE. WHILE SURREPTITIOUSLY PLUNGING MY ROSY-CHEEKED CYCLOPEAN ALLY INTO THE ANAL CAVITY OF A YOUNG MIGRANT FARM WORKER OF INDETERMINATE GENDER IN THE FRONT ROW OF A MOVIE THEATER, THE POOR YOUTH SCREAMED FOR MORE THAN THREE MINUTES STRAIGHT, FINALLY COUGHING UP A LOAD OF 100% PURE ZIMMER SAUCE AND PASSING OUT. THEN, WITH A BESTIAL ROAR, I BEAT THE ENTIRE AUDIENCE TO DEATH--WITHOUT LEAVING THE FRONT ROW. ON MY WAY OUT, IN THE CUSTOM OF THE ZIMMER FAMILY, I GAVE THEM A BURIAL AT SEMEN. I GUARANTEE IT.

Well you should try. And if you Must post this kind of stuff, why can't you keep it on the open forum or Let it Bleed, where the subject matter is truly anything and everything.

You really shouldn't degrade the dialog on the teen help industry forums. This is not just taking jabs at me or my son, or the Fornits community at large; it is debasing the discussion of a very important topic - The abuse and neglect that takes place in "Teen Help" programs.

There is always the hope that a parent looking for answers may find Fornits and learn some true and useful information. But when they run across this kind of ideosity they are far more likely to leave and never come back - and to place their child ASAP in the hopes they can help them avoid turning out like this bunch.

I haven't seen Ginger posting much lately - but Ginger - if your reading this - maybe you would consider an alternative to censorship that would still help keep the more serious forums free of this kind of thing?

I read a forum that has a sub topic forum called Rabble Babble; and another called the Twilight Zone. Threads like this would be sent to Rabble Babble - where the parties involved can continue to carry on - but where it won't taint the quality of  the more serious forums.

The Twilight Zone seems devoted to Wild Eyed Conspiracy Theory threads - but anyway - I thought you might consider something like that. It would enable you to maintain your no censorship ethics - and yet would protect the integrity of the Teen industry issue forums.

Well said.  This forum has become (sadly) one part good information and nine parts bullshit.

I don't support censorship.  Perhaps, though, if everyone was a registered user it would cut out some of the ridiculous, juvenile rantings.   ::argue::

Again, there are stories and experiences that need to be heard.  But, not everyone desires or has the fortitude to put the waders on to find those valuable stories/information.

In theory that's a wonderful idea, but it involves a lot of work. Who is going to read every thread of every unmoderated forum and delete message such as

"Ever pound your pecker into a glassful of raw ground beef?"

which are a waste of people's time and Ginger's bandwidth. The idea of successfully banning such members is about as sane as thinking their going to plug all the leaks in the Tx/Mexico boarder to keep 'illegal immigrants' out. They would simply get a new IP and carry on.

The most successful thing to do is to completely ignore it. That too is not going to happen. Someone will have to tell them how fucked up they are or try to top their comment.

One thing I've noticed, is that when a new parent arrives and requests specific information, there are usually two or three responses, sometimes with links.

The world can be messy. And sometimes there isn't an easy solution, that meets everyone's needs.

A pro-censor troll? I doubt it. My thoughts are it is someone from the programs wanting to devalue this forum. Someone from WWASP or Thayer or Whitmore possibly.

But it is probably just someone who gets their kicks being vulgar - and not giving much thought to the over all effect. If thats the case maybe they can be reasoned with.

As for who spends the time reading every thread, what you do is, implement a report this post option - that goes to a moderator - who then reads it and decides of it needs to be moved. Of corse that can also be abused - but then you could ban the fool abusing it.

Speaking of banning. Sure, people can go from IP to IP, but it takes effort. The effort may take away some of the fun - and so then maybe they'd go away.

This seems to work on this other forum I spoke of.

Yes the goof balls return with new names and new IPs - but they soon get banned again - and they then seem to get tired of the game.

I'm not, and would never, suggest banning anyone just for being controversial, or argumenitive - not on a forum like this - but the kind of thing going on here? Serves no productive purpose at all, and in fact, is quite destructive.

Something to think about. The structure of fornits has obviously played a roll in its popularity amongst people wrapped up in this industry. Now, because it is so popular, people are suggestion that it's concept and structure be altered. Seems like a recipe for disaster to me. Sure the posts are annoying, but that is what makes fornits fornits. Struggling Trolls is a great example of a controlled forum. Say the wrong thing and your post gets deleted and you get banned. Posting in that environment is a waste of time, because you know the moderators with agendas will structure the forum to suit their views. Is that really what we want?

"Speaking of banning. Sure, people can go from IP to IP, but it takes effort."

This thing about the IP address is confusing the Ant. When I lived in NJ I had a static IP address and thus anyone could identify my router as being the source of a post. My IP address did not change for seven years.

Now I have an ISP that assigns a new IP address to my router each time my router is disconnected and reconnected to the ISP's network. I understand that each ISP has a range of IP addresses assigned to them, but that would only allow you to identify my ISP, not me. If I did not have a router, the ISP would assign a new IP address to my PC at each login.

Also the ISP assigns the IP address to my router, not each PC behind the router. The router assigns an IP address to each machine, but the Internet does not see these IP addresses. Although it would not matter for identification purposes which specific PC in my home I am using, it does matter if the router belongs to a company. Then there is no way to identify the specific employee, only the company.

Thus, I don't understand how people here can identify individuals based on their IP address, especially if they use dial-up, or only have one PC which they log in and out of daily.

You've got it partially right.

The device your ISP issued you is often incorrectly called a "router."  It is actually a modem.  Your modem is assigned an IP address from a block that your ISP has available - this is called DHCP or "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol," that assigns IP's "on the fly."  Even though it may assign you a new IP after each reboot (this is not necessarily so) only the fourth octet of the address changes and the first three octets are tied to a small geographic area due to network segmentation/architecture.

Your router is the multiport device connected behind the modem to which individual PC's connect.  You set the IP address for your router (or maybe you used the default which is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 depending on the manufacturer) which, in turn, deals out IP addresses to DHCP eanabled PC's (192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x, where x is a random number between 2 and 255).

SO...  Your internal network consists of your router and PC's which are normally not seen by outsiders as your IP address.  They see your modem's IP.

Also, if you have java enabled (or some other features) many times your individual computer information can be viewed by outsiders.

Typically I'd say that most IP tracing done on BBS like this one are done by a combination of actual IP address and content of posts.  Also, this is a relatively small site, so the odds of posters sharing the same ISP and same IP block are very, very small.  In addition, your login name is attached to every IP address you've used to connect, so one can see the "pool" of addresses for each user.  Also, specific IP addresses can be traced to specific LAN's or domains from where the poster posts (like Hidden Lake Academy   ).

There are also other identifiers that can be passed by your PC including the computer name (randomly generated on install of Windows OS or set by user) or MAC (Media Access Control) address which is the absolutely unique physical address identifier of your Network Interface Card - you can't hide from that one, ever.

It is wise to remember that every transaction you make on the internet is traceable, even through proxy servers (a LOT more work).  I always advise people to imagine that every thing you post or email will be read by a judge.

Hope this helps!

Right, unless they use AOL (which I believe uses a proxy; the scenario you described later on). I've noticed lots of IP's grouped together as if they came from the same user that were most definitely not posted by the same user.

Thanks DJ, I get it. I also feel a bit stupid. I should have known the modem vs router part since I access my router's settings by typing in its IP address as a URL in my browser. Putting two and two together should have alerted me that my router's static IP address is not going to be the same as the ISP assigned IP address. Duh!

I still have a question. Who here has access to the IP address of a particular post? Is this something anyone can check or only a board's moderator? Not that I want to do this mind you, I'm just curious.

I agree about not posting anything you would not want a judge to see and often consider that. Many a time, I've pressed the Nah' forget it button thinking I'm revealing too much or being too mean. I also pretend my family, boss, or a coworker is reading the forum and knows who I am. It keeps me honest.
