Think the Sudweeks are ready to pack it up and close the doors of the Whitmore? Only 3 students enrolled.
Cheryl Sudweeks facing 7 charges of child abuse/hazing and the criminal trial is moving forward.
Civil Case moving forward, too!

What makes anyone think they won't open right back up - with a bran spankin' new name - free from the stain of all this negativity - happily promoted by the referral Diva - soon to have a full house of boys and girls to turn against one another in many vile ways we have all become so familiar with?
Watch and see.
Soon you guys will be the old timers - and there will be a whole new crop of outraged teens and parents - All suggesting that everything you are doing, be done.
You'll have to patiently educate them on the history, and explain how you did this and that - and the result was - what ever it will be - but it didn't & won't stop them.
Just ask Susan - or any Trekker.
They can tell you just how it will be.
-
I wanted to add something here -
I in no way mean to diminish or discredit what the Whitmore families have accomplished.
It is real and significant and worthwhile.
I only meant to point out it will not be over with the closing of Whitmore.
-
There does seem to be a pattern of that happening in the "troubled-teen" industry.

Yep, as long as kids are a cash crop there will always be predators.
At best, one can hope the new generation of sucker parents demand more for their buck but I'm afraid the odds of that happening are slim to none. The teen help industry thrives on desperate parents who can be conned out their last dime to fix a problem that in most cases does not even exist.

There are new laws in Utah that just won't allow the Sudweeks to rename and reinvent themeselves there in Utah. They will have to move elsewhere, and that could happen. Happens all the time in this industry. And, the Referral Diva will most probably keep making her BUCKS by sending kids the Suds's way.
A guilty verdict in the criminal case will make to move to another State a lot more difficult though. And the Suds better know they are being WATCHED and will be WATCHED a long long time.

Buzzkill,
What question would the Whitmore parents have for "Susan?" Are you are referring to Sue Scheff of Pure? I am certain that none of the Whitore Parents would set up a business to make money by ever referring any children to one of these abusive programs. Our children ended up at Whitmore because of Sue Scheff's recommendation and her referral business. We have lots of questions for HER, but she ain't talking!

Oh I was just thinking of the problems with WWASP - how it can be compared to the situation at Whitmore.
Corse I know Susan isn't talking about how similar the two situations are. I didn't mean you'd get an answer - just that she could explain the parallels if she chose to.

There in lies the BIG DIFFERENCE:
Sue Scheff made MONEY $$$ by referring parents to both programs: WWASP and Whitmore.
Who cares what she has to say?

I think a couple of the parents whom she referred to Whitmore are interested.
-
Yeah, I'd like to hear Sue Scheff answer a few questions under oath. That would be lots of fun. Maybe she could use her deposition from the WWASP trial and try to keep her "lies" straight this go-round.
-
Maybe these 3 students will "graduate" in May. That should finish things up there at Whitmore.
-
Think Sue Scheff will have to answer any questions in the litigation in the Whitmore cases, the criminal trial or the civil trial?
-
Even if Scheff has to testify, any chance she would tell the truth? She's not know for truth-tellin you know/
-
Does anyone know brek? How was he like with the kids?
-
Dont bring kids into the picture, or even mention his name.
-
Who is this getting so upset because someone just felt like asking if anyone knew brek or how was he like with the kids.
-
Well does anyone know brek? how was he with the kids or is everybody to scared to talk about him?
-
What on Earth does Brek have to do with this? He has no involvement. Leave a young boy out of this battle. He's a good kid.
-
who is this standing up for brek? Cheryl maybe? Who knows!!!
-
Why would Cheryl care? She doesn't care about any kids, period. Understand he's a really nice kid. Too bad he has to live in a group home and be a witness to all the mess of Whitmore, now isn't it? Maybe she's afraid he might be called as a witness or something. Kid has seen a lot, knows a lot.
-
MOMMY DEAREST may be worried that she might have to face her own son in court as a witness against her? Happens all the time. That boy has been raised in this Whitmore mess and has observed most of the abuse discussed on this forum. Poor kid.
-
How would you like to be a young boy raised at the Whitmore with a bunch of kids you didn't know, and be a part of Groups, not go to real school, and watch your own mother behave like a ranting maniac? Not to mention all the abuse he was a witness to. Gotta feel sorry for this boy.
-
Well, Cheryl?
-
Not talking, Cheryl?
-
Evan posted that 2 of these remaining three students have fulfilled their contracts at Whitmore. Perhaps they will be "graduating" and going home. Pehaps the remaining student (the one on probation maybe?) will fulfill his OBLIGATIONS to the court system and get "released" too. Bye bye Whitmore!!!!

 Bye Bye
