McDonald's sued for having milk, wheat in fries-WSJ

NEW YORK (Reuters) - McDonald's Corp. (NYSE:MCD - news) faces at least three lawsuits claiming the fast-food giant misled the public after it acknowledged earlier this week its French fries contain milk and wheat ingredients, the Wall Street Journal Online reported on Sunday.
The suits were filed by people with celiac disease, who have an intolerance to a protein found in wheat, the Journal said.
McDonald's, based in Oak Brook, Illinois, had previously described the flavoring as safe for people with food allergies and other dietary sensitivities, the Journal said.

That seems fair, if those people got sick at MicckyD's didn't put that in the ingredient list, they should get some money for their medical costs and shit.. mcD's can spare it.
But man.. how funny if people are ever able to sue because THEYRE FAT! Like people who sue the ciggarette companies and say 'we didnt know beter'.. could that happen with MickyD's and fat people?

Here is one guy suing for a bundle, not really a salad bar person:
"They said '100% beef'. I thought that meant it was good for you. Those people in the advertisements don't really tell you what's in the food", said Caesar Barber, one of the plaintiffs.
Mr Barber (56) weighs 272lbs and has diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He has also suffered two heart attacks. He said he ate fast food for years until he was advised to stop by his doctor. Until then, he believed the food was good for him.
The four restaurants being sued are McDonalds, Wendy's, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Burger King. All four have been providing nutritional information on their meals for many years.

Recently Congress passed a law that
protected all restaurants from being
sued by a customer who got fat.
Notice this lawsuit is solely based
on not informing him of the milk and
wheat in the fries.

Yeh, I was like 'wheat and milk' in taters?
I'm guessing it's a solution they spray the fries with to make them crisp better.
As for who's suing:

People with allergies and diseases like celiac need to know that info.

I use to work with a fryer. If they use it for other things, than fries, that are breaded the bread floats around in the frier and can get into the fries.

I miss the way the fries tasted when I was a kid. Back when they cooked the fries in animal based shortening or lard. Hate to say it, but they were yummy!
