I have a friend at Hyde, and we both suspect that Hyde reads and possibly edits both incoming/outgoing e-mails. Any thoughts?

When I was at Hyde I was told they monitor the emails, but I don't know about editing them. If you are at Hyde and you want to post, then do what you feel is right. Should you get in trouble for this maybe you should remind the staff that you are doing what is taught to you at Hyde. Speaking the TRUTH!!! Problem at Hyde is they are total hypocrites and don't practice what they preach!

If someone abuses their email/Internet privledges, they're revoked and that's it.

It just a little un-nerving to hear someone ask a question like that. You have the wrong impression of what REALLY goes on there. I want you to take this Hyde negativity with a grain of salt. Sorry if I came off too harshly...

Abuse is visiting inappropriate websites, vulgar misuse of email and tampering with the school's server or computer system (which happens a couple of times a year!)

I remember quite a while ago when someone from Hyde was posting and they got in trouble for it. If I am not mistaken this person was put on 2-4 for "attitude." This is the joke at Hyde. It's all about truth and honesty, but only based on what Hyde decides is truth and honesty. Do these young staff members, some who have no college are Hyde graduates with messed up backgrounds, have the ability to judge what is "truth and honesty when they themselves are still screwed up?" So many of the staff here are more messed up then the kids they are supposedly helping.
I find that many of the faculty/staff are at Hyde to get "well" themselves. They are not ready to live their lives so they hide out for a couple of years at Hyde. Some have hidden from the real world for years. We call them "The Hyde Lifers." It is very sad for them, but worse for the kids going through Hyde because they are not being educated, and are not getting the emotional health they actually need. As another poster has written on many ocassions, some of these kids need real psychological counseling and meds, not these immature staff to degrade and humiliate them into submission.

All penalties for drug users should be dropped...Making drug abuse a crime is useless and even dangerous...Every year we seize more and more drugs but the quantity available still increases...Police are losing the drug battle worldwide.

I am an idiot because I am expressing my thoughts? This is what I am taught at Hyde so I am doing exactly what I am taught. Speak the truth, speak from your heart and practice truth over harmony. What happens at Hyde is that when you practice truth over harmony that doesn't conform to their way of thinking, you are admonished!! This is a school filled with messed up staff who need a character based program themselves before they try to start teaching character!

Having Hyde School teach "character" is like having Hitler teach "tolerance". They swear by the "Hypocritic" Oath.

More than likely they use Spyware just like big companies so they can monitor what is being sent and what is coming in.
