Anyone watch the Donald Trump APPRENTICE ? A LIFE grad from early 80's was on 8 episodes (last run). MARCUS
He didn't appear abused and tortured.
-
Neither does John McCain. Unless you know the backstory, you'd never guess.
Life may have no meaning. Or even worse, it may have a meaning of which I disapprove.

Yeah, you haven't seen him at all lately trying to prevent the torture of others by speaking out about his tenure at a camp.

So what does someone who was abused and tortured over 20 years ago look like today?Faith is a cop-out. It is intellectual bankruptcy. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can't be taken on its own merits.

So, you're saying LIFE did abuse and torture people, but we should just all shut up about it and allow history to continue to repeat itself. Interesting.

so a former lifer was actually able to become a reality show contestant. wow, what a remarkable accomplishment!!!

Really. He should have aimed MUCH higher. Like to be a guest on the MONTEL show.

Did anyone hold that up to be evidence of a successful life?

Isn't that better than a former lifer who sits on a computer bitching about how they were mistreated years ago?
-
Nothing is half as bad as a lifer who acts as a 5th phaser in the employ of the state.
-
Look, I'm NOT a fucking 5th phaser alright. Now lets just get that one straight.

Does anyone know where i can find a good notary public in Sarasota?

Well, at least you admit these things. Let me help with your reading comprehension:

Realizing, I actually DID post that anonomously, (and being quite amused) I immediately did a follow up which said:

Does anyone here live in or near Sarasota right now? Have a question for anyone who does. TimeBomb? Helena?

i don't live near there, but i seems that it must be hard to find a notary public there.

State employed 5th phasers are pretty easy to come by, though.

That depends. Does your job involve snooping on designated neighbors to ensure compliance with various court or treatment conditions?

Well, that could explain a few things. Question is do the successful drug war POW's get favored by Uncle Sam's HR department, or was it that completing all 7 steps was part of the grooming process for such a career?I swear by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

I'm a server administrator. Do server admin, scripting, network admin, whatever needs to be done.
Basically I'm just your basic senior IT guy, who doesn't have to talk to customers.
I guess it's a bit misdirecting to say I work for the Federal Government. I actually work for a company called SAIC as a contractor for the Federal Government. Work in a DoD(US Army command in this case) facility with badges and alla that fun stuff.
It's a lot less interesting than it seems, I got investigated when I first joined the Army 14(or so) years ago and have held a clearance with the DoD since.
And you didn't offend me, if I was offended I woulda typed in all caps and used swear words!! :razz:A student burst into his office. "Professor Stigler, I don't believe I deserve this F you've given me." To which Stigler replied, "I agree, but unfortunately it is the lowest grade the University will allow me to award."

I think it's pretty clear that Program grads in good standing got some special treatment from local law enforcement. I've heard stories from a good many of them about getting just the same type of treatment from cops that my brothers used to get back when my dad was shootin' buddies w/ some of them.
But the Fed? No, I don't think so. In fact, I've also heard some sad stories about ppl who thought their good luck would carry over into the broader realms of government or 'helping' field type work and who were bitterly dissapointed to find that putting "Seventh Stepped Straight Inc." or "Graduated The Seed" wasn't really the resume helper they had been led to believe it would be.
But what's all this about 5th phasers doing obs on Floridians? It is the old practice of despots to use a part of the people to keep
the rest in order; and those who have once got an ascendency and possessed themselves of all the resources of the nation, their revenues and offices, have immense means for retaining their advantages.

Wait, people put that on their resumes? Seriously? It never even occured to me to think to put "7th Stepped the LIFE program" on any resume anywhere...There is no devil and no hell. Thy soul will be dead even sooner than thy body: fear therefore nothing any more.

Funnily enough, about 04 election time is when we were JUST moving in to SAIC. We were a small company called Presearch that got bought by SAIC in October of '03..

I've heard tell of it. One former Straight staffer (or trainee, don't recall offhand) was just devistated when he found that his stint in Straight as a legal adult disqualified him as a real life drug counselor. He thought he was already trained and edumacated and just needed the silly paper. After all, who wouldn't prefer Middle Earth, unless they've been corrupted by a Ring of Power?

That verges on just being sad and pathetic. I would do all I could to keep that away from public knowledge.

No, I think it crosses the line. Sadder still? I know a dude who, after flunking out of one marriage/job after another finally just gave over his will entirely to Stepcraft and opened his very own TC for gamblers.
