Unbelievable!
A Yankee. :flame:
I hate how these baseball players have no loyalty to their teams, and that the teams don't have it either.
What's next, Bill Gates gives out I-pods for Christmas????

fuck yeah!!! Damon made the BEST move in his career, joining the dark side !!! Go yanks motherfuckers!!!!!

Sellout? Nah, the gay sox dont know how to keep a top of the line player and clubhouse leader..Redsox are doomed, sorry nigger
-
yanks are gonna go bankrupt b4 they win another pennant you ignorant ( def nigger) bitch.
-
Hahahaa! Bankrup? They are the richest sports franchise in the world, and they sell more tickets, more clothes, more hats than ANYONE, Bankrup, shut the FUCK up dude..Win 26 world championships, then come suck my dick
-
Bankrupt* my bad faggot
-
gonna have to agree with the other guy. Salary caps are gonna decrease. the yankees will slowly begin to deteriorate. and their nuts will all shrink from the steroids. unfortunately for the time being, they have the most talented 3 shortstops in the world playing on the same infield at the same time. on the other hand, the yankees had a literal all star team last season, and had their worst season in years. pin stripes are for fags.

Johnny Damon? He's just the latest reminder. And sure, I'm rooting for him next season and plan on cheering him on in person when I have the chance. But Damon's departure didn't taint 2004 for me ... if anything, he reminded me that most of these guys come and go, that it's impossible to keep even the most beloved teams intact for long. Since Oct. 27, 2004, the same night Schilling raised a champagne bottle and gave his famous "To the greatest Red Sox team ever!" toast in St. Louis, could anyone have imagined that two-thirds of his teammates would belong to other teams within 14 months?
But hey, that's sports in the 21st century -- you win a championship, the moment passes, and that's that. In some cases, like with Pedro, Mueller, Lowe and Damon, employees leverage their situations into lucrative contracts with other franchises. In other cases, like with Millar, Bellhorn and Embree, companies cut the cord and try to find someone more productive. And once in awhile, you have someone like Varitek agreeing to stick around at a slightly reduced rate, and only because he's happy where he is. But everyone makes the decision based on what's best for him. That's how the real world works.
The question remains: If you were Johnny Damon, would you have passed up $12 million to return to a team that didn't really seem to want you back? Didn't think so. He's not Anakin, he's not Judas, he's not the Reverse Earl Hickey. He's just another businessman who followed the money and never looked back.
In other words, he's a professional athlete..
Get the fuck over it

You're right! I would do the same thing if the opportunity presented itself.
I still am not very happy about it.
-
im guessing whoever you are underneath cynthia, that you dont live in or around boston. there is no greater atmosphere to play baseball than fenway park. the fact that a professional athlete would give up that kind of atmosphere is fucking pathetic, and selfish. What happened to the love of the game? Steinbrenner wrote it a check to shut it up. fuck you, fuck the yankees, fuck johnny damon.

Heres a better atmosphere than Fenway Park, it's called Yankee stadium you fucking putz...More history, better fans, more seats than fucking doinky Fenway, MORE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS..The sox showed Johnny no interset or care , what the fuck would you do? Be real man
-
I live on Long Island Sound. Halfway between Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium.
Here, you will find Yanks vs Sox to be 50/50. I live w/2 Yankee fans  and grew up watching the Red Sox with my Dad. Right now, I'm not pleased with baseball at all!
I hate the Yankees!
SNOW ******* is where it's at!
-
The two Yankee fans in your family, make sure you love them even more than the rest, they are good people!!!
-
Fuck yankee stadium you douche bag... I would love to play baseball in a setting where people throw shit at you in the outfield if you fuck up... Plus I cant stand you obnoxious new yorkers anyways... So, as it stands now, Steinbrenners pen has once again purchased a world series in advance.

I AGREE WITH YOU, which is why I hate the Yankees. Do you feel it is necessary to type foul comments? It only makes you look less than decent. There is so much crap on this board, at least we can try to bring some respect back.

Pitching wins championships (look at the last three World Series Champions, they all had stacked Bullpens) and the Yanks do not have pitching. The Sox have made some great moves as far as pitching is concerned. With a rotation of Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield, Wells (if he returns if not put Arroyo or Clement in his spot), and Papelbon that is a great rotation, I do not see any other Rotation that when you look down the list you will see all of the Starters who are more then capeable of winning at least Fifteen games . As well as a bullpen with Timlin returning and the pick up of Guillermo Mota, Rudy Seanez, Manny Delcarmen, Craig Hansen, and a return of a healty Keith Foulke they will be a serious Bullpen to deal with. The Yanks still have the same rotation and have made shitty moves for their bullpen as well as loosing Tom Gordon who is one of the best set up men in the game. It does not look good for the Yanks. Sure when the Yanks won their last one they had a great Leadoff man and Jeter was where he is comfortable in the second spot but they also had much better pitching and Great Pitching beats great hitting, pure and simple. It does not look like the Yanks will be able to sign some more pitching as the days are counting down to when Pitchers and catchers report to camp and all of the good throwers have been signed. Especially with Millwood signing with Texas. So the Sox do not have their Leadoff man and Damon is a Great Leadoff man but because he is more of a steal threat at first, we (SOX) can still sign Dave Roberts who we all know from 2004 that he is a big steal threat and is Faster then Damon and is healthy and wants to return to Boston. So only time will tell but I still see the Yanks suffering from their Pitching and the Sox will still score more runs then Anyone in the Game (because Manny is not going anywhere and we will still have the Best Three Four punch the game has ever seen). GO SOX

I understand what your saying, but there is no "respect" involved when it comes to yankees vs redsox. The biggest rivalry in professional sports, besides maybe Bruins vs Canadiens. Die hard sox fans dont take shit from yankees fans, like wise with the yankees fans not taking shit from the sox fans. YOu would have heard the same conversation at any bar in boston, or in new england for that matter. so, while it hurts me to say this, if you dont like this kind of sports talk, get the fuck outta here.

Why do Red Sox fans always whine about oh the Yakees just buy their teams. Ok maybe they do splash the money around a bit. I mean we are talking about the best team in history so why not? How many starters did the Red Sox bring up in their farm system eh? Ya I know we are talking about a team that can't even afford a friggin parking lot next to their stadium so I guess they can't match the Yankee offers. You'll get another turn in lets say another 87 years?
-
GO CUBS!!!! :smokin:
-
GO WHITE SOX !!! LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!! :nworthy:
-
Cubs? They'll never win. They sell out when they stink. Why should they get good or pay money for good players?
Knock off the north side/south side crap. The CHICAGO White Sox are the world champions. Spend your money there.
G O S O X !!!
-
Who ever you are I like the way you think!
GO WHITE SOX'S
SOUTH SIDE'S FINEST!

Well, if that's the case they'll probably move to Tampa or somewhere. Half cities can't support Major League Baseball teams.
