Title: It's snowin' in PA
Post by: starry-eyed pirate on November 23, 2005, 05:55:00 PM
Wintertime sunshine comin' down through the grey clouds.  Snow fallin'.  i love the snow.  i love the color in the sky of a winter afternoon.  The lengthenin' of the shadows and the shortness of the day.  My ancient primordial memories are stirred.  i love to just stand outside in the cold wind and snow(as long as i have a warm place to go) and feel the air on my face.  All my senses keen and my imagination piqued.  At times i've been known to walk for hours in a blizzard just for the sport.

Many a time growing up my friends and I would walk in the woods during the snowfall.  It was just fun to be outdoors and enjoy something like that.  The moonlight reflecting off the snow would create enough light to see in the nightime.  Ahh, good times.

I could never live in the south because you'd never get to enjoy the change of seasons.

I've seen snow once in my life.  Some crazy winter in '93.  We went up to visit my in-laws (East of Clevland).  I guess this one of those once in a blue moon storms.  Snow as tall as me.  We were there for two weeks and I think i went outside a total of 5 times.  Had to go sledding with the kids.  That part was fun.

I do NOT deal well with cold weather!!

I believe that relgion is the belief in future life and in God. I don't believe in either. I don't believe in God as I don't believe in Mother Goose.

I particularly like it right after I have chopped it up with a razor blade, it looks really nice, sitting there in a little pile on a mirror, or maybe in a spoon.  It goes great with smack, morphine, dilaudid, or oxycontin, too.

Yeah, I fell in love all over again today. First real blanketing snow of the year. Kids are outside whippin' snowballs at each other. I like to bake in this weather. Keeps the house all warm and delightful. There's a sheer cliff not far from here that goes on for around a mile where they cut away the hillside to make a river road. There are springs in it that are already growing 8' icicles. Deer tracks everywhere. And everyone's happy.

Religion is a byproduct of fear. For much of human history, it may have been a necessary evil, but why was it more evil than necessary? Isn't killing people in the name of God a pretty good definition of insanity?

OK, now I've been a FL girl all my life.  Seen snow once and HATED it (course it was  a record freeze).  You guys are going to have to teach me how to appreciate it.  Don't get me wrong, its beautiful to LOOK at......from inside sitting against a fireplace!!

Leotards & tights w/ jeans, socks and a jacket works pretty good. Oh, and closed shoes.

Aw, just wait till you see the architecture and then the woods and rivers. It really is enchanting. But a hot toddy looking out on it is not bad either!
