I think everyone that complains about CEDU needs to grow up. Get over it. It's over. The place is gone. Poof. In the wind. People had messed up experiances there, I'll give you that. But it's time to move on. If you're trying to blame CEDU on all your problems, your blind. They aren't responsible for your problems, you are. You are responsible for the creation and the solution of your problems. You can't blame CEDU for your problems, although many of you try. I'm not a CEDU lover, don't get me wrong. I hate CEDU like the rest of you, but my life goes on. Get over it, grow up already.

How many times has this message been posted? You've got to be about the least original person around here. You think you're a genius and have it all figured out? If it was that simple, people would just stop posting here. But obviously it's not that simple. Actually read some of the threads...it's not hard to see that people aren't blaming all their problems on CEDU. But they're definitely saying that CEDU's aftermath has had some sort of lasting effect on them, and they're well within their rights there.
If you're over it, then you're over it. Why try to stir the pot around here then? Or would you rather some staff member tell your kid all about how they shoved candlesticks up their ass or let a dog lick their cock somewhere down the line.
-
who let dogs lick their balls and stuck candlesticks up their asses while at CEDU?! Damn that's fucked up shit!
-
Haha it was my very first week there. All of us voyagers had to listen to some staff, I don't remember I think it was Dave Rookey, tell his life story to us. About half of it was him explaining all this sick shit he did like shove candlesticks up his ass and nasty shit like that. And then in my Childrens, Sam Zug started running his shit about how he used to let dogs lick his cock and...fuck dude that place was so nasty. God damn disclosure circles...what the fuck was up with that? All the things I just didn't need to know went on in life, for some reason they found it 'therapeutic' for us to have a little circle jerk and tell each other all about it.
-
Sam Zug! Is that the dude who worked at NWA then switched to BCA in about 1999 or so? I think that was him! Man, he was a fucking tool! HE drove that big ass truck and shit. What a piece of shit. No wonder he let his dog lick his balls.
-
Yup that's the guy. I heard he switched to BCA because someone cracked him in the head during that riot and he just didn't feel 'safe' going back there. So he decided to come to BCA and create some 'safety' by telling us all about his little beastiality fetish.
Now the funniest shit was when it would snow really deep, they'd let us play full-tackle football. Most of the time it was these two, huge staff that would play it with us, so we couldn't really take anything out on them cuz we'd just bounce right off. They were cool anyways. But one day Sam Zug decided he was going to play with us. Big mistake. Fool had a target on him from the start, and one time we just squared up and absolutely drilled him. Cracking two of his ribs had to be the most satifsying moment in BCA history. Besides when Nicky Hurwitz shot the fire extinguishers off at Marc Trivelpiece as he walked off down the road.
-
I remember that riot, I was there for that one. It was a fucked up night. It started during last light, some kid was playing the piano. A girl comes in and she's all bloody and shit crying. She cut her wrists and whatnot. People got all freaked out. Cryin' and not being able to go to sleep. I was a dormhead at the time and one of the kids in my dorm went nuts. He went outside and played basketball and wouldn't come in. Other people joined him. Lori Rist came back to school from home or something. They called in Escorts and shit. It was actually pretty fucked up. People were going nuts. I didn't know Sam got knocked on the head though. That's too funny. He was a real piece of shit. I hope he dies of gonnoreah and rots in hell. Would you like a cookie?
-
Crazy. I'd always been curious about hearing about that riot from someone who was actually there. I got to BCA not long after it happened, so we were hearing all sorts of wild rumors about it. Like kids dragging staff into the bridge and making demands, more staff than just Sam getting cracked, kids hotwiring staff's cars and taking off, just all sorts of shit like that.

Gone? Not quite...

I don't remember anything like that...but it was a freaky night. Looking back on it, it was pretty funny, but at the time scary. No one knew what the hell was going to happen. People were just fed up with everything. The word Riot really characterizes what happened. Like I said, I didn't remember anyone getting knocked on the head though, that's not to say it didn't happen.
-
I thought that when the NWA riot happened before '97 Lori was the head director at BCA. Did NWA have ANOTHER riot?! I don't understand how it could. That had to be the most slacked off school out of them all. Lori decided that she didn't want to run NWA the way the rest of the schools were run from what I gathered in '99. Sam Zug. Hmm, I co-facilitated the Truth with him and Heidi for peer group 23! I didn't know all that about him though! He must have left those out in the disclosure circles, or decide that he didn't want to share with us in the staff break room! I though he was an ok guy though. I didn't know him too well. He came to take over the Eagle team in 1999 right before I graduated. He just seemed intimidated by everyone. I guess everyone grows out of that though.
-
Actually, now that I think about it, I do remember Sam admitting something about getting cracked in the head in a rap when he was trying to explain how important it is for things to stay in control and for people to not "move fast".
-
I thought Sam was a complete dick. But he was another staff that was extremely two-faced. He could be a really cool guy to some, but if he thought you were showing the slightest lack of interest in "giving all you had" to the program, oh man he'd go from white to black in the blink of an eye. He was eagle team leader into the second month of '00 before he became the upper school phase leader. Believe me when I say New Horizons lost just about all their privileges as soon as THAT switch was made.

this is some funny shit
-
sam zug was just a douchebag. i remember him busting out with some of that sick shit in raps and then getting really offended when no one else wanted to follow up with their own ridiculous disclosures. one kid actually laughed so after raps sam dragged him and another kid into a classroom and made the kid yell every disclosure he could think of into the floor while the other kid just sat there and listened. it was atrocious. of course the kid said fuck it at first but sam made him sit there until he would do it. the initial rap got out at 3:30 pm, but they sat in that room until 7 pm that night. staff actually went and got them dinner just so no one could file any sort of grievance.
after that day i wanted nothing more than to see that fucker get run over in the parking lot.
-
Are you serious?! I don't know what the fuck happened after I graduated but I swear that if I saw that shit go down I would say something! I don't understand what everyone was so scared about by refusing to do something. I refused a lot of shit. I just made sure that no one was else was around at the time, because it seemed like when you made some staff members look bad (like Sam apparantly) then the consequence would be worse!
-
i'm not sure what it was like when you were there but during my time they would hand out trips to nibh like candy. kids who should have had nothing to do with a behavioral hospital would refuse to do something, such as sams little floor exercise, and would get slapped with a little 3 day trip to nibh like it was nothing. i guess one of the rights our parents signed off on was the right to hold us in nibh for up to 3 days without even having to CONTACT your parents. that gave them 3 days to come up with some beautifully maniupulative argument to keep you at nibh even longer. it happened so much just for simply refusing that people didnt refuse much.
-
Oh yes! I witnessed that more times than I would like to admit to. But unfortunately, that was a decision your parents chose to make from my understanding (Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying that this a fact, but just what my mother told me) When it came to the agreement of the school and all who were associated with it to make the "medical" decisions for their children, a lot of those parents were manipulated into thinking that CEDU possessed a LOT of degrees and education concernining mental health, especially with medication and hospitals like NIBH. My mother chose NOT to hand that over to the school because she did not want me on ANY kind of medication unless she got a second opinion herself. So that is why I could do what I did. They would often go back and tell my mom embellishments of my decision to make her mad at me, but when it came to that, she believed what I told her because she knew me better than them. I am very sorry to those parents that put their entire trust into those schools because they REALLY felt they were making the best decision possible for their children seeing as how the majority of parents did have any education regarding medicine and behavorial health.
-
i wish that had been the case for us but from what i remember there was a sheet located in your medical files (they usually wouldnt even let us view those files, but some of the drivers would cave in and let us check them out on doctors trips because they had to pull the file and bring it along) with all those rights signed over. things like 'we may restrain your child, we may place your child in an escort safe house for up to 48 hours, we may place your child in nibh for up to 72 hours'. and sure enough, underneath every single one of those statements, there was the signature of my mother and my father. i believe that if they would not sign one of those, the student would be denied enrollment, but i'm sure those greedy bastards were willing to make a few exceptions.
-
I wonder why they made exceptions for people like my mom. Maybe they felt bad for her because she was broke and couldn't get into any of the scholarships they offered. So that was their present to her I guess!
-
they had scholarships?!? for who?!?!? my fam was sure droppin' the full $65k+ a year!
-
Well I know that Tommy Hilfiger had his scholarship going for awhile. Keep in mind, this is between '96-'99. Also, the corporate office of CEDU said that they had something going on like that, but you only heard of a few select people getting on that.
-
so they were helping kids go there by handing out cash? interesting. stroke of luck to get a scholarship sometimes...i would've been pissed knowing my luck got wasted on bca instead of college. but man if they were helping other kids go there, they were doing the opposite to me. they almost refused my enrollment because my psychological evaluations from back home (along with my parent's kind words) had me labeled as too angry for the CEDU schools. they said i'd be a danger and my threat to campus safety was potentially unacceptable.
at first i thought i should just go with that flow and maybe i'd end up back home. then i realized i'd just be punching my ticket to WWASPS or something like that.
