He has actually no credentials. Why is he a guest speaker? It was announced that he was the Director of Provo Canyon School at this meeting. Is he a director of Provo Canyon School. His talk was so boring. All about meaning No when you say no to children. He said, "They dont believe that they need to do what you ask them to do because you loose credibility by giving in to them after saying no." This causes you as a parent to loose crediblity. "Credibility is critical - no must mean no." He just goes on and on adnauseum about this. He also has a speach impediment with his "s" - has problems with the word, "this" and other with s.
His talk was very boring - he lacks credibility because he has no CREDENTIALS.

so long as the universe had a beginning, we could suppose it had a creator. But if the universe is completely self-contained, having no boundary or edge, it would neither be created nor destroyed it would simply be. What place, then, for a creator?

The only thing Litchfield knows about teens is how to hurt, abuse, torture, and brainwash them. That doesn't really apply when it you're talking to people who are choosing to raise their own kids instead of sending them to a program.

So, the only skill one needs to be an effective parent is the ability enforce the "N" word. Interesting concept, obviously less complicated and time consuming than cultivating mutual love and respect. Litchfield's amazing display of ignorance should have sent any decent parent running for the door.

REALLY B O R I N G talk - and he does have a speech impedement. On and on and on about meaning No when you say no. Beating them if we say we are going to beat them and so on. No one laughed at any of his attempts at humor. So boring, boring, snore

Amazingly, Virgil Newton did the same damned thing. I heard it through the grape vine that he even had practicing rights at a local hospital in NJ. Evidently, he fronted as a published author, director of a couple of teen rehabs and whatever and they just never did get around to checking which variety of PhD he had or the issuing institution.

This is a very important cautionary tale, imho! Whenever you walk into a hospital or doctor's office, you should be very credulous and skeptical. Don't assume that, just because someone's managed to acquire an impressive looking piece of paper that that necessarily proves competence and good intentions. You have to ask question, you have to check facts regardless.

All we ask is to be let alone.
-- Jefferson Davis (1808-1889): First Message to the Confederate Congress, March,1861.

The only qualification needed to be a teen helper is to suffer from a disordered personality, like narcissism.
